Every time I try to add a water plane or water mesh to an exterior level the toolset crashes.
Anybody have any news on what causes the crash or how to work around it?
Thanks!
Any news on how to put water in an exterior level?

I am sending you a private message with an email address to send your toolset logs to. Once we have the log files, it may give some insight into what is happening on your machine.

While I don't crash, the water never shows in game though it does show in the editor. I am not alone this either. We can get everything looking right in editor (well, everything other than the freaky black lines along chunk boundaries) but in game...nothing. be more than happy to send you the .lvl and .erf files
I've been out of the loop this week with (blame Swine Flu). Can you give me some more details on your water issues? Before you start sending off files, here are a few things that you may or may not have tried, but may be of some assistance.
Water requires a light probe in order to render properly. Make sure you have one placed in the level and have rendered it as well as the rest of your lights and post all to local.
With the black lines along chunk boundaries, there are a couple of things that I can mention. First, if I use too few lights and have thier intensity cranked up to compensate, I find that I get lots of lighting issues at chunk boundaries. Using more lights with lower intensity helps with this.
I also discovered that sometimes the ugly black stuff occurs in areas with low tesselation. Increasing the tesselation has sometimes done the trick for me.
