Oh really? =\\ That's really quite horrible. Have to keep an eye out for that, then =\\ I never figured out when "friends" change to "love" and all that. Wonder if I just can't see the definition on a console. All I ever saw was the slider itself, with a heart on the right end.ejoslin wrote...
Just a warning, since you're on the console -- Zevran's and Leliana's romances both have pretty bad bugs. Romance stopping, end of communication type bugs. If you start Leliana's romance and have not gotten her personal quest, you will have to break up with her to get it :/ You can start it again after finishing her personal quest, but it's a shame to have to do that. If after Zevran's personal quest you get a public kiss -- reload and redo the fight. the public kiss is bugged and the romance never switches to love. Plus with both of them, you're getting the wrong dialogs a lot of the time.
Bleh, i hate that bw hasn't fixed those.
Landsmeet: Alistair...

I'm quite happy with the ending though. Played out an "alternate ending" for myself where I put Anora as queen and did the Morrigan ritual. It felt pretty good to get to see it. But my "self-canon" story will always be the one where the hero of my heart became the hero of the lands ^^
Now I'm more starting to feel bad about how the game's over xD New origin, new romance, new class and a new persona would work fine though I guess =)
But yeah some of the consequences to these choices are so sadistic...
If you plan to play Dragon Age 2 and you want it to follow your canon story, you need to go back and play out your original ending so you get the correct "decisions" transfered to your DA2.
Just so you know.

Though honestly Alistair is miserable as king I don't see why you'd make him king unless you planned on being chancellor or queen. He's much happier if the two of you remain grey Wardens together.
OP, my advice- reload and make Anora sole ruler. Others have told you not to do it and to play it through, so you decide.
Hmmm? Did I completely miss something?
In one of my Dalish play throughs, she was very selfish and self absorbed but rather brutal. She hardened him, because that was her outlook in life. She then didn't make him King, 'cause that would mean a likely seperation to her. The two remained Grey Wardens, and he said something like
'I'm so grateful to you. You gave me the strength I needed, and helped me avoid the one destiny that's haunted me since I was a little child'.
I mean.. I'm not saying he isn't happier unhardened and remaining a Grey Warden, but he's certainly not sad?

It does - though Witch Hunt 1.1 for the PC is kind of borked too . . . I'm not sure if any of my decisions got saved. It ended very abrubtly for me.

Couldn't I just import the save that's saved for my Witch Hunt playthrough though? I mean, Witch Hunt is considered a separate "playthrough" from my ordinary file, and obviously there's information in that file about what I did in DAO since Morrigan knew what I had done or not.Hanz54321 wrote...

Oh - if you did not replay Witch Hunt with your alternate ending character then yeah, that should work. Nice self-save!
I personally don't trust Witch Hunt. It's jacked for PC even with the update. I suspect I'll just be using my regular canon DA:O ending to import to DA2.
Fascinatingly, I wiped my computer clean and restarted my canon toon. I did so to wipe the stink of Awakening and any connection it might have to any other DA product. I pretend Awakening never happened.

That sounds like an unhardened line to me, but I'd need a toolset person to confirm. In response to "are you okay with Anora being queen?" he says "barely, but at least it's not me" and doesn't sound very happy about it. It's not that he wants to be king, but doesn't trust Anora, and is willing to come around to see being king as an opportunity to do good. For instance, if you ask him in the Landsmeet "what should I do?" he says unequivocally "make me king- Anora is not an option." When hardened, I mean.M-Taylor wrote...

Alistair: Before I forget, I need to say something. [it's something good]
When Arl Eamon said I was going to be king I thought, "That's it! Your worst fears have finally been realized!" [a bit jokingly, but it was a serious situation for him]
But you didn't make me king... and Loghain still got what he deserved. Everything worked out, thanks to you.[earnest thanks]
PC: You're okay with Anora being queen?
Alistair: Barely. But better her than me, that's what I say.[said with a shrug -- he's happier with this result, mostly]

I confirmed this with a bunch of forumites months ago that this just happens.
It's just that thing where Morrigan goes through the mirror and then "slammo" - straight to credits. No explanation of what she does with the child (OK, they are saving that one for DA3). No explanation of what the mysterious book is. No, "Here ya go elven side kick - your book," conversation. No epilogue. Nothing. Just WHAM! Straight to credits.
And MOST important . . . no end game / save game file for me to load when the next game comes out.
And I properly installed the update. I installed Wolfshop the same way and it worked fine. Changed the filename to da.zip no problem.

Oh no, that's all true. I'm not saying he doesn't feel obliged to be King, and I'm 100% sure he was hardened.
But after the Landsmeet, not before or during, he doesn't seem 100% sad and pissed off. He certainly does seem to hold some regret, but I would still say he would seem relieved by the news.

Ah i thought it was about some flag bugs!.
Hm, indeed weird you get no autosave after the mirror talk even with the WH patch.
Have you tried downloading Witch Hunt again via "Your registered game promotions" and reinstalling it?.
As to the no epilogue, thats just bioware being bioware. xD
