Alistair was cool if you played as a male because he was like a comrade in arms and after you got past Zevran's flirting he was a pretty good friend.
So what do you ladies want for your males and what do you males want to see for bromance

Since BW hasn't announced any males, it would be cool to have a nice buddy to bromance with. I want another assasin like Zevran, Ezio Auditore and Altair from the Assassins Creed series.

Honestly I don't give a crap. BioWare's made it clear through the lack of party inventory and static party weapons that this is not a party based game, just some story with characters focused around a mary/marty-sue/stu "badass." who will somehow change the world, without changing it at all. (after all, if we change the world in any significant way, it might require *gasp* breaking the status quo!!!)

Fine, who would you like to get gay with?

I honestly don't think that Mary would let us languish for 350+ pages of Varric thread if he wasn't.

Hey now, we DO have our first male LI. It is inevitable that Varric will be romanceable, it just hasn't been confirmed yet![]()

only thing against him is he is part of the plot

Or, you know, have your character have a meaningful relationship with them.
Not that homosexuality is anything beyond "getting gay" as you so aptly put it. <_<

Edited for appalling grammer.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nathaniel or Anders come back. DA:A really didn't do justice to its characters, after all.
Anders did encounter Isabela in his epilogue I think

I don't remember anything about Anders encountering Isabela... at all. And considering that Anders either dies at the keep, gets recaptured by the templars, or stays with the warden I'm pretty sure Awakening was the last we will see of him. Nathaniel on the other hand has a huge chance for a cameo or even a spot as a permanent companion what with him previously being in the Free Marches and also not dieing in the epilogue (unless of course you killed him right after he reveals himself as Howe's son).Johnny Chaos wrote...

Honestly, I hope Varric is not a love interest (don't hit me, please). He just doesn't do it for me. His chin scares me, for real! I hope there are two male LIs and that both are exciting stories!
Hmmm, that doesn't say much, does it.

If Jowan was a little bit less annoying I would totally go for him. It's a shame you can't show your interest as a male, but the fat cow part has a lot of roleplay potential and it's still win.

Yeah. I mean, this is almost as bad as having some nobody from 6 differnet potential backgrounds rise up against overwhelming odds to raise an army, stop a civil war, defeat a monstrous horde that overran Thedas four times, each time taking decades if not centuries to beat, all in the span of two years without much help. All of which leads to the world being exactly the same as it started with only minor changes because of how quick and dramatically the chaos was beaten back.
They could even make it more stupid by having some dramatic speech before the final battle basically being an "ode to how awesome the player is and how the player did everything alone".
But no, you're right - that's a stupid story.

I thought that having the LI's affect the plot in that way made them SO much more intense though. I mean, Zevran's and Liliana's romances were still excellently written and all, but towards the end were a bit flat in my opinion, where as with Alistair he either has to dump the warden or even sacrifice himself for her (I'm not gonna lie, I was upset). And with Morrigan, The warden finds out she was just using him all along and then she up and leaves at the end! It was so deliciously heart wrenching. :innocent:Elrena wrote...

I really hope they do something similar with the romances in DA2.

I never thought of it that way until just now! But that is a pretty jealous sounding line!
