No you're not. I personally wouldn't want a dwarf/elf male LI. A Qunari would be great though.

Maybe "want" was too strong of a word in this case-- rather, it's a facet I wouldn't enjoy; I don't see dwarves in the DA world as being sexual. They're just kinda, you know, there.

I was dissaopinted because my humans didn't tower ENOUGH over Zevran. But then, I have a thing for shorter guys.

I am all for non-human romances. So if main LIs are Varric and the elf guy, I'd squee with joy. Although that's probably not going to happen. Methinks they will have to include a conventional romance for people who will feel uncomfortable romancing dwarf/elf.

No, you aren't the only one. I'd rather see another human or elf LI before a dwarf.

I'd be very disappointed if both LIs were shorter than Hawke.

I think they mentioned that they are trying something completely new with romances. Varric fits under that quite well.

There are many people who don't want to romance Varric. It's just that us Varric-loving folk are highly vocal and have been at it for quite a while. I'd be cool with him not being a romance, Varric is likely to be my bro then.



Though I'd like a brown curly haired mage with green eyes. And that Dalish elf? I like him too.

And you wouldn't be the only one. Which is why they probably won't do it.

I'm ok with it probably because I'm so short that all my real-life LIs were always taller than me.  So I want to be the tall one for once

Yeah, if it's an elf I'm hoping he's hetero and not in any way androgynous.  No offense to those so inclined, but that elf stereotype is pretty worn.

I would be all for Varric as LI.  To me the story is more interesting than physical line-up, and I like cross-cultural story lines.

I assume this will be the reaction of more than half of the female players going for a male LI (just look at love interests on television). Do you really think that's what BioWare is aiming for?

Ugh, I am almost spamming posts now.
Butt that is quite the presumption. What basis do you have that more than half would be against it? And storyline comes before eye-candy and fan service, at least I would hope so.

I said more than half simply to mean the majority. My presumption came from popular male romantic leads in film and on television. And part of a love interest's appeal is eye candy and fan service. Look at Isabela.

There's still a chance they'd make Varric an LI, but after reading about the extensive design process for Thane to make him physically appealing (I know it's a different team for Mass Effect) I have my doubts.
