If we are making generalisations, then I believe the average female/gay RPG playerbase is more interested in quality and meaningful storylines. Alistair is an example of both, they have designed love interests of enough attraction up until now, but I believe players would be open to a dwarf romance as well. What has been done up until recently does not overly dictate what is to be done now.

Right because that wasn't totally a generalization of the average romance novels which some females read.

And even if Hawke is the knight in shining armor she can still want to be swept off her feet once in a while you realize?

But of course me saying that automatically means I think all women are weak and need to be protected. <_<


Regardless I don't see the average woman being attracted to Varric at first sight. Then again that might just be me.

Writers don't often get to choose the covers of their books.

As for the female audiance, there are things other than the looks of the actors to draw in watchers. Plus, even if it does attract a lot of women viewers, 'a lot' is different than 'the majority'.


Anyway, back on topic of male LIs, this new possible dalish elf character, I really hope he's a LI, I love the elves in DA, and he's certainly very attractive.

This elf or elves in general? They're getting a new model this game I thought. It might appeal to you more.

^elves in general. They don't look at all attractive to me and they whine a lot. They're really irritating.

Unless the remodel has them actually attractive to me and taller I doubt they'll become more appealing.

On human companion note: I hope he has black hair. Both male LIs in DA were blondes for some reason...

Horns off, probably. I can't see a loyal qunari entering a companionship with Hawke.

Unless it's a "you saved my life, you have my blade" sort of deal. But that just seems silly.
