Silent NPC Dialog

I know there are a couple thread about skipping audio during cut scenes due to a problem with  frame rates, but my problem is different. If there is another thread dealing with this I can't find it.

In certain areas of a map and cut scenes the NPC dialog goes silent for a one or two sentences. If not for subtiles I would know the dialog was there at all. There is no trouble with the framerate, skipping audio, or static. I've never had any problems there. The NPC the lips move, the subtles are there, they simply doesn't talk. I've had the game for a while now. At first it didn't really bother me, but every play through it becomes more and more annoying.

I use the AV multi connetor for audio and video. I don't have this problem with any other game. Is there a patch I'm missing or what?

Try hitting your square button when that happens. Your NPC's should start talking again. That's happened to me numerous times and the square usually takes care of it. :)

Square only works during cutscenes and it just skips to the next line. I rarely ever see a stall in a cutscene. The thing that's annoying the hell out of me is when NPCs (not in your party) on a map talking to each other as you walk near them have a whole section of audio dialog go silent. The subtitles are there with the lines and the characters go through the animation, but no voices.

Ah, I see. hmmnnn....Based on all the other bugs and glitches with this game, I'm going to say you're SOL then. HA! I know, I'm not very helpful right now, but I couldn't resist! ..lol...sorry :)

I've had a similar thing happen and have hit the PS button then gone back into the game...sometimes it works sometimes not. HTH

I've noticed this a lot early in the game, and it seemed to me that it happened most when I was behind someone.

I turned the volume up to max and found that the audio was there just extrememly low as though there was an invisible wall between the warden and the NPC that is talking. One of a few NPC dialogs that always drops out is in the circle tower just after the harrowing. There is an elf apprentice talking to a human apprentice about a rumor of someone dabbling inlood magic. Most of the conversation plays fine, but the elf's third line explaining the perks of blood magic never fails to drop.



I made a save after the harrowing and went through this on connversation several times. I walked around them, stood between them, twirled the camera angle around in all directions, tried the PS button too. It's like there is an invisible box around the elfs head.

Best RPG of 2009 and there is no fix for this? Seriously???
