This is just a hypothetical proposition but it begs to be answered.

We all saw saren die at the end of Mass Effect 1.

But is that the end of him really?

Saren Arterius has access to advance technology such as cloning and cybernetics which could have been used to make a clone or copy of himself in the event that he becomes incapacitated. This replica of him could have been created at a secret base other than virmire.

It is also possible that when escaping, Saren captured Ashley or Kaiden (depending on who you saved) and turned them indoctrinated slaves to serve him, maybe kept at the "secret base".

Thoughts people?

None of these things happened. This is in the wrong sub-forum.

And what if Sovereign is alive? In battle of Citadel we only destroyed his holographic projection. And Shadow Broker we killed in LotSB was just puppet. Actually all villains we killed are really alive. They all used clones.

You can imagine anything you want but unless there is solid proof behind you words it all is just speculation.

If that ever happens in this series I will personally kidnap the writers, lock them in a room and force them to listen to Justin bieber until their brains explode or they kill themselves. Saren need to stay dead.

Not only is he dead, he's no longer indoctrinated so he's not even a villain anymore. If he's alive, he's probably on a Turian colony somewhere, farming. But as it happens, HE'S DEAD.

He's dead dead. Not mostly dead (which is slightly alive) but DEAD. Especially since I always manage to talk him into suicide - he blows out his own brains and then gets blasted to all hell by me and my team when he becomes a zombie. That turian is DEAD. No coming back from it.

...I can't speak for everyone else, but I think it would be pretty cool.

I guess these other poster's imaginations are "pretty much dead."

Resurrecting a character has been done before, nothing imaginative about it.

Sovereign-Saren was NOT a holographic projection. Sovereign activated the implants in Saren's body (those were implanted by him as Saren told before the first fight) then downloaded (at least a part of) himself into the re-animated body. Then he was destroyed by Shepard and Co. As it happen suddenly Sovereign could not upload himself back (or the downloaded parts) that rendered his main body vulnerable as the shield went down and was not capable to move. Then he was executed by the Arcturus fleet, killshot by Normandy SR-1. That is the story.

Saren was DEAD before Sovereign interveened, especially with the paragon solution (suicide). So, no Saren will (should not) come back. A clone is always possible, but would be cheap.

Sovereign as a whole also cannot come back, but parts of it, or affection of its parts, technologies used may be ab el to function somehow and make impact on the story, but Sovereign, the harbinger  is no more.

Deal with it.

Yeah, but Saren has never been resurrected in ME3.

Saren was burned to ashes, the brain is gone. The only way he could come back is if Bioware pulls a retcon.

Does he need to? It's really quite silly to resurrect a character for no apparent reason.

I watched his endoskeleton disintegrate, so i'm pretty sure he's dead.

What was left of Saren's remains disintegrated and vapourised into nothingness. I'm pretty sure he's gone for good.

Plus his brain is gone for good, there is no way unless they pull a retcon or say f*ck science.

You don't know that. The writer's can do whatever they want. Who is to say that Cerberus won't resurrect Saren if you took the choice of blowing up the Collector's base at the end of ME2? We already know Cerberus is doing tests with Reaper technology. Maybe they salvaged parts of Sovereign and were able to retrieve Sarens' lost consciousness from them. Then they could just build him a mechanical body, and they got Saren in replacement of Shepard to do whatever they want.

If Bioware plans on resurrecting him, and he plays an important part in the story, would it matter?

Yes it would matter. Shepard was bad enough filled with crappy and messy writing, there is no need to do that again. It would be lame. Saren is gone, that's it, no if's,ends or buts.

If done correctly, and his return is climatic, it would not be "lame."

unless Saren is like Dark Samus, and can re materialize elsewhere after being disintegrated
