Just bought and downloaded this, yet I dont seem to get the mail from liara that starts the mission. This is after I completed the suicide mission and I dont have the cerberus network, not sure if that has anything to do with the paid DLC. I have tried going on a mission then coming back to the ship, still no mail, and ideas?

you MUST use cerberus network to play DLC (free or not).
Every time you instal new DLC you need to identifi your account to use them in your playthrough.
You don't need to be online after that.
Ceberus network is free for any brand new games.
If you got your ME2 second hand, you can buy a Cerberus network code to let you play your LOTSB.
Having a cerberus network allow you to download some free dlc (new mission / weapon / caracter).
