They were originally going to go with a meaningful name for the character.

LoserClown.

But they decided the name should not have any meaning to the character, so they settled on Hawke.

:)

Was Davasar your second choice after "Unfunnynonsequiturguy" turned out to be too long?

Aw, did I upset you by belittling your new hero?

Grab your bib and pacifier and calm down.

It wasn't against you personally so don't go insulting me in such a manner.

You know what, since we're on the topic of names, my curiosity is piqued:

... why are your shorts so upsetting? :(

Sure thing guy, I need both hands to pour more bourbon anyway.

Oh mine aren't.  If I wore upsetting shorts my pasty white thighs would frighten the women and children.

And cause the men to clamour at your feet. Interesting. I will take you up on this offer.

Nah, the men would make jokes about them, call them upsetting, and then use it as an obscure reference for their video game forum account.

i c wat u did thar.

I still don't know what I'm going to call my Hawke. I usually like my names to end in an "ah" sounding vowel, but that would sound awkward with a surname of Hawke. I am distressed.

Im making Ethan Hawke. Gonna try and make him look like the actor, too.  I will make many Training Day jokes during the prologue.

I've been inspired. I'm going to make Uma Hawke, and she will live to kick your Hawke's ass. (though they had an amicable divorce, didn't they? Damn civility.)

What about 'Champion of Aaaaaaahhhhh ...' ?

No? Not even funny? Not even a bit? Alright.
