Hey, this is mostly an issue for the non-NA customers on this forum, or those who'll have problems playing it right away for some reason, I mean a lot of people already stay clear to some extend to avoid spoilers, will you do the same or will you start soaking up any information that people spill here and in the spoilers forum?

I guess I'll step out once the first of those threads is made, guess I can live without it for a few days. ;)

I'll be running away from the forums next week and will be staying away for a few weeks after release. Will probably stay on the Mass Effect forums till release day (while furiously playing Borderlands).

I'll start withdrawing from the forums, for two reasons.
  • Release here isn't until the 6th, not the 3rd. It sucks, but yeah, it means I won't even touch the game before them.
  • By release day, there won't be a way for us "have-nots" to add all the promotional stuff to our games yet. Since I won't play the game before then.. yeah.. it could take a while.

Luckily I have a heavy work schedule from the 3rd until the 6th so I won't have to endure much pain. Though I might have a sneak peak to see if I need to up my excitement levels :wizard:

Before the release of DA:O I'm pretty much soaking up every bit of information I can get about the game, spoilerish or not.

But as soon as it will bi released I will withdraw from the forums as well, or at least from the spoiler-forum. I want to explore and to experience as much as can on my own, and to be surprised and anxious to learn how it will continue without knowing the outcome.

How much fun is a game when you know the outcome of the choices you make? How much fun can it be to know all the quotes and banters between the partymembers without experiencing them on your own?

I know I will not succeed completely in not spoiling myself, because I already have done it in order to understand the game world and to reassure myself that buying the game is worth the money, but I don't want to be rushing to the forums after every bit of dialogue or choice just to know what the consequences will be or how I can avoid or trigger them.

This ruins not only the immersion but also the joy of playing and exploring. :/

When the first people start posting that they have the game I'll curse their names and growl.

Then, I'll beg them for information on the specialization talents.

Cry in a corner...
And probably read everything about it, I'm too curious (and still enjoy the game, so it's ok) :/
But luckily I'll be too busy, studying, so it's not like I'll even miss it. Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I propose we start crying, we could collect our tears in small vials and throw them at whoever is responsible for this grave injustice, may our sorrow purge their unholy... unholyness!

We could always loot and riot with pitchforks and torches and demand our copies sooner

Being from the U.S. makes the wait slightly more bearable.... Its the 26th! Almost there!

Id stay away from the forums completely. There always ends up being posts in the wrong sub forums, and usually just a threads title will spoil things. No amount of moderation will keep all the spoilers in the spoilers section.

The Dtoid guys (Jim Sterling) got his review copy a day or two ago apparently, so hopefully well get some reviews soon so people dont feel the need to browse the forums those 3 days to find out if they still want the game or not. If the review copies are sent out then in a few days we should start seeing some nice long well written info, though I wouldnt use Gamespot or IGN since they always contain a ton of spoilers with no warning.

I'll be distributing fake spoilers. They illicit all the outrage of real spoilers without actually spoiling anything! My conscience remains clean, but people still get upset.

Also has the additional benefit of filtering into the real spoilers, meaning I can take no spoiler at its word.  Leaving me thusly unspoiled by means of a web of lies.

I'll be reaching through the intertubes and strangling each and every braggart! Not only do I have to wait until the 5th here, but I'll also have to wait for the weekend!

I just joined the forum (as I had just read about the game that night) yesterday. I'll be leaving the forums Sunday. As some of you may know, the douchebags at Target or KMart or any other store that can barely manage a handful of costumers a day will start selling the game a few days early to get customers. Spoilers will roll in, and I'll be gone.

I'll do my best to stay away from the forums until after I can complete one playthrough, the first playthrough is always the most thrilling in games.

It always seems like the first "I've got it" post comes from somebody lying about having the game. But like most I'll just skirt the topics telling about the game.. I might delve into some bug topics to see what to expect in that arena.

Be sure to post it on youtube. I'd love to see that.

Anyway I'm going to stay away from the socialsite/daforums till I've completed my first playthrough

If I had to wait 3 days, I would probably be reading watching all the game reviews, since they give you a good idea of the game, with no spoilers.

Also, why does gameinformer have their review up, but none of the other game sites?

I'll be done with the forums for a few weeks.
Not only that, but there'll be a plethora of new members. And with that, comes a plethora of stupid questions we've all been answering for months.
"Wat consul shud i get it fur?"
"no t00lset fer teh consuls?"
"y no orcz?"
"can i shapshft to dragon?"
"can i ride a dragon?"
"can i BE a dragon?"
"how i mine for fish?"
