Curious as to how many would be interesting in playing a DAmmorpg if Bioware ever created one. Now I know the chances of that are next to none, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Also depending on how well recieved ToR is Bioware might give it some thought. Maybe.. hopefully? lol
I for one would love to do a Dragon Age mmo. It's really hard for me to get into a fantasy setting. I consistently compare it to what would be considered 'old school' Forgotten realms. As FR has been drastically changed for the worse, imo. So with that change I tried a number of various games, from rpgs to mmos. None of them ever clicked with me and I was left wanting.
Then Dragon Age: Origins came out. Read up on it, bought the game along with all the extra content along with the collectors edition strategy guide. Even been buying the pen and paper rpg stuff for Dragon Age produced by Green Ronin. I was hooked. Bought both of the books and loved them (Would love to see more novels on the setting) and have played through the game over and over. I've even gotten my brother, niece, and about half a dozen other friends all hooked on it.

Nope.
And it would never happen, SW:TOR is enough of a hassle from the same company.

Let's just see how TOR comes out before we talk about a DA MMO, shall we?

*hands you her handy-dandy flame shield* You'll need this.
Personally I honestly wouldn't mind an MMO being developed for this series so long as it's production does not interfere with the creation of future single player campaigns. That's always been my problem with the implementation of either multiplayer or an MMO for an existing single player series of any genre - it almost always takes away time and resources that could have otherwise been used to make the next great single player title in the series. If Bioware could somehow balance all the forces at work, then I would have no objections. Though I'd probably never touch either the theoretical MMO or multiplayer mode even if my life depended on it.

While I'd prefer it remained single player, I wouldn't say no to a DA MMO should ToR flop. Having to choose between them would break my heart.

I prefersome gameworlds staying in the singleplayer realm, that's the kind of games I prefer anyway so.

After they make a Mass Effect MMO that plays like Privateer meets ME2, then I'll entertain the idea of yet another medieval fantasy themed MMO.

I think we're in trouble.
Personally let's see how SWTOR goes before anyone goes jumping the gun on a DA MMO. Because I think the main audience for SWTOR will be westerners seeing as how I don't know many asians who have found it interesting or the star wars franchise in general.
Also two MMO's for the company to manage would be insane. Plus I think DA is just fine as a SP game.

Sweetness on a stick! I got a new shield.
I understand where you are coming from with that concern. My thoughts on it however is how many games do we expect them to make for Dragon Age. Three? Five? If it goes along the lines of most franchises we will be lucky for that many. Though I hope against that and we get TONs of more content for Dragon Age.

One of the main reasons on why I suggested this is that I can't stand the fantasy themed MMO's that are out there. Tried the D&D one (Can't stand the Ebberon setting), played Everquest and was meh. I won't touch WoW (mumbles something about stupid game). The list goes on. MMO wise the only two games I have enjoyed were City of Heroes but it didn't have lasting value for how old its engine is now. And Star Wars Galaxies, until SoE destroyed it. lolUpsettingshorts wrote...

It could happen, it seems the only model that game companies are considering outside of ones with short development cycles are MMOs. The article about a new NWN game being a MMO was somewhat telling of this tendency. Especially since even the "great" bioware is shoving DA2 out the door so quickly.
The only hope i guess i have is that Bioware adopts blizzard's policy of making the game they want to make, and releasing it "when its finished" rather than what they need to in order to stay objectively profitable for that project. I guess they are afforded that ability because of WoW in a time where most gaming companies are forced in to making generic titles as fast as they possibly can. Lets hope SWTOR affords bioware the same thing, well.. if the market can stand another streamlined WoW clone.

This is what I was thinking. Let's see how good a MMO Bioware can make before asking for a DA one.

No. It's bad enough they ruined KOTOR with an MMO.

Because KoTOR will be retroactively affected by its very existence.
Clearly the time-space continuum is in danger.
