Hi all,
I just bought a new computer and reinstalled DA. I finally managed to get all the dlc downloaded took about 6 hours cause some kept failing like return to ostagar which failed 4 times at least.
I downloaded the 1.0.4 patch and dao_witchhunt.exe as this seems to be the updated version that fixes the orignial witch hunt ending issues.
I try to run the exe and it tries to install the patch 1.0.4 and immediately fails and aborts the installation.
Does anyone know why? I am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit if it matters previously I was using win xp 32 bit.
I'd appreciate any help as this is really becoming a pain.

According to the control panel user accounts I am the administrator. I haven't had any trouble downloading or installing anything else just this file.
Thanks Abandonment I right clicked the file and chose run as administrator and that worked like a charm.
I don't understand why I had to do that or what the difference is between that and being the administrator, but I appreciate the help!!!!

Hi, I bought DA Ultimate while the sale was on last week (50% off), and though I have been warned about digital purchases, I was new to the potential problems...
This is what happened... After downloading and installing DA Ultimate it played OK for a day. Then I decided to download all DLC from the social bioware website, which were included in the purchase.
The Witch Hunt module would not install at first, so I forced installation as admin. After this, DA would not load anymore.
I got onto chat with support, and they suggested to uninstall DA and reinstall. I asked if this would require redownloading the whole Ultimate package (over 12 GB, right?) as I have limited bandwidth in Canada. They said 'no' so I did what they said. When I went to Origin to reinstall, it started downloading the whole thing all over again!
When I complained to support they said 'sorry' and I wondered why support was being outsourced to India (I think). Bummer, right?
Now it is the first of July and I have more bandwidth so I am allowing Origin to download Ultimate again (ouch to doing much else this month with the internet...).
My question is, how to I resolve the Witch Hunt issue? If I try to force installation again as admin, I expect the game will not load anymore, as was the case the first time I tried this. I am also unsure if any of the other DLC mods will also similarly cause my DA to stop working, as I installed them all at the same time, without verifying if the game would work.
Question 2: I don't have the bandwidth to keep redownloading the game from Origin, how can I preserve a local copy on my HD in case I need to uninstall and reinstall yet again, after applying DLCs?

There is a giant DLC troubleshooting FAQ thread and a solutions roundup thread pinned to the top of the forum. If you have issues again, I'd suggestyou begin with those and if the solutions suggested there don't work, make a new post following the guidelinesin Raen's "Read first" post. There are a number of possible problems but right now no one has enough I formation to help you.
