There's more to sniping than just raw bullet damage. Soldiers trump Infiltrators in bullet damage, but the Infiltrators have more frequent/more reliable time dilation (every time they scope in as opposed to every time they aren't in cooldown), and they've also got that invisibility thing.

That make things actually worser. When i played as an infiltrator, nearly everytime i used cloak all normal enemies went into cover.

It took me a while to get used to that, but eventually I figured out that if you're just using Cloak for the bonus damage, the best tactic is to pop out of cover, line up a shot, and *THEN* activate cloak, instead of activating and then popping out of cover.

Cloak is really two powers in one. On the one hand, you can use it as a brute force damage boost. On the other hand, you can use it as a flanking and positioning tool. Adrenaline rush also has that duality working for it, but Cloak is better at the positioning or "finesse" aspect while Adrenaline Rush is better at the damage or "brute force" aspect. Both are fantastic skills for a sniper. Having played both extensively, I would be hard pressed to call either class "better" than the other at sniping.

^Getting enemies to shoot at your squadmates also helps ensure you get clean shots.

I think it's worth noting that the infiltrator is actually more of a quasi-support class than a front-line kind of class. Your powers are geared for either fire support (sniping) or flanking.. both tactics require your squadmates to absorb the enemy's aggro.

The go-to Widow Infiltrator build is something along these lines:

10 Heavy Disruptor Ammo
10 Squad Cryo Ammo
10 Assassination Cloak
10 Incineration Blast or Heavy Incinerate
0 AI Hacking
10 Assassin
1 Bonus Power(usually Neural Shock)

If you wanted to be a narrower specialist, you could max out your bonus power and have it be Tungsten Ammo, which basically means that any armored target is a free victory. The one leftover point usually goes into AI Hacking. It's a situational skill, but the situations where it's useful do arise from time to time.

I completely ignored Cyro Ammo and AI Hacking in favor of maxing Warp Ammo (bonus) and did not opt for any of the squad ammo upgrades. Pretty much unless the enemy is sporting a mixture of Shield and Armor, they are dead the moment I go into zone. Warp Ammo has less of a punch in comparison to Disruptor Ammo, thus the occasional Asari Commando will live to briefly tell the tale of how she got a hole in her head... until I put another one in it. The Widow is simply merciless and I love it.

Reave as a bonus power comes in handy.  Makes the enemy temporarily stand at attention while you blast 'em with a head shot.

Also, make sure to get the visor that gives bonus to headshots (available on Omega) and the shoulder pack that adds 10% to regular (NOT heavy) weapon storage, which will give you another shot with the Widow.

And finally, make sure to watch the History Channel's docmentary "Sniper: Inside the Crosshairs" - very good and will get you into the right mindset :)

Reave is good for enemies in cover, also squadmates with Pull/Throw or Warp/Pull combinations will root out enemies. Otherwise, just watch the hiding enemy, they have a predictable pattern. They shoot, shoot, and then cover, and repeat. Watch the pattern and as they come back out of cover to start their shooting, cloak and shoot. Also, sometimes I find that in these situations it's best not to waste Widow shots and instead just take out my SMG. It has much more ammo so you can usually get a few shots to connect out of the clip. Wear down the shields that way with the SMG and then use Incineration Blasts from behind cover, no cloaking needed, to take out the armor and health and save bullets. Use the Widow/sniper for either one-hit kill headshots or forget it, don't waste the ammo, use the SMG for shields with Disruptor or Warp ammo and then Incineration Blasts for armor/health, or Reave if you have it.
