Hey all,
I'm looking for a way to apply a glow effect to my moon. I've attached a screen below; this is basically exactly what I'm looking for. Do I use the buffer effects 1-3 in area properties then something to do with areadata.xls?

Can anyone tell me what the effect is and how to apply it?
Thanks in advance,
Dael

i can't see a glow effect. it's just the moon up in the sky, level lighting, bloom effect and for sure a color correction filter to get a bluish tone. also bioware used an internal lighting renderer which produces better outcomes.

Maybe it's the color correction filter then; but that moon is distinctively brighter than mine. It also looks like the light from the moon is spreading into the sky around it. That's the effect I'm looking for.
In any case, how do I apply the filter?
I'll try that.

within the area properties you can adjust the atmo sun intensity and the moon alpha. this lightens up the moon and the sky around.

Great, that's what I was looking for. Strangely, changing those value's in my area properties had no effect, but I reloaded an earlier atmostphere and it worked in that just fine.
Cheers!

you have to apply an area id while in the area editor. with this id you can create a new line in your custom areadata.gda where you adjust a cc_xxx.dds color filter. you can use filters bioware created for their levels or create you own. within the areadata.gda you also have to set the hsvmatrix which won't get exported, in contrary to the fade and bloom buffer effects.

Late to the party but I was wondering if anyone could go more in depth about this. I'd love to be able to make the in-game moon look like this. For the life of me I can't find the right files to edit. Thanks for any help.

the moon should look like what exactly? the above is an ingame screen and your moon will look like that if you play around with the intensity and moon alpha setting.
