Right. Time to summarise:

I vote body snatcher victim.
Or blood mage influence. Something like that. Due to the glowing veins, and other more vague things.
Abomination? By a Pride Demon or some sort?

Now you mentioned it, he looks a bit like Valen Shadowbreath....minus the red hair and the horns....and the tail..
OMG YES!!!
He does have that same feel to him, doesn't he?

Nope. I mentioned it earlier in the thread. Living being unto living being influence. Like a spy but with strings attached. Perhaps literal strings. Once I got on that train of thought, the three-dot patterns made me think of marionette tie points (assuming he's also got them on his hands). But that's a HUGE stretch.
But hey if it's not the case I'll just take that idea and run to Word

It's the fact that they're so inorganic compared to the organic vein pattern that makes me think they were put there, maybe by someone else, since he's not a mage himself.

It is also because of those dots sprun the theory of MEG might be a slave or Trevinter Magister/that Qunari we saw in the promo vid.

So did I, but I couldn't think of where. Thank youuu~
I'd say he's a bit more... rugged looking, though. I love rugged, steely looks. *snuggles into her blanket of lovestruck*

Yes, this is why I suggested the patterns on his body being made by a runestone similar to those that you give to Alistair in DAO. Especially, the black runestone similar to the markings on MEG's body.

And maybe you see this as well: to my eye the white hair, dots, veins and maybe even the tired look are an "after" effect of some hypothetical event of awesome. If you mentally remove them, maybe he's got black hair, non-glowy skin, and just the blue tattoos, which makes him seem rather normal but still in a well designed, important character way. Put them back and then... it just seems really apparent to me that something happened to him. Its hard to explain.

@Pseudo, yeah....
@Lucy (suddenly had this image of little girl in Narnia in front of me), humph...I am not sure how concept artist work. In my mind they usually got describion from the writers and drew some artworks accordingly. So MEG is so similar to Valen might be...only just might be...for a reason.
Valen was deeply bothered by his demonic heriatage, to a degree he offered the PC to leave him in Carnia.
Is MEG having the same problem?

@Elvalia, and it was when I had the idea he might be the end result of those Amgarrak experiment, assumed Trevinter magister carried on what was left in the dwarven city.
@Pseudo, yeah....
I can see why you'd think this after GOA. I think we'd see a more unusal creature, like the golem female looking thing in that pop-out video done by gametrailers. The golem-construct which sort of looked like Flemeth in battle armor would be something I'd think the trevinter's would have come up with.
I'm thinking more and more MEG is Alistair changing into an elf with the runestone. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.

This thread is quiet again, humph...
Right, after reading David's comment regarding Aveline, I am going to make some wild guess about MEG's name in game:
1.Shartan
2.Falon'Din
3.Geldauran and Daern'thal and Anaris
4.Fen'Harel(a far shot, he's a wolf)
Tank

I kind of hope he isn't Shartan, that would conflict with a fanfic I want to write at some point. Well, he could be named after Shartan I suppose. And there was a Fen'Harel theory several pages back. Falon'Din sounds nifty for a name and may imply he is a rogue, and I dobut he'd be named after any of the Elven gods, that would be too much coincidence.
I am actually reading through the dwarven codex file, see if there is any significant names match his look. Trevinter ones after that.
