Yeah I reckon he'd have a Tevinter-sounding name.

MEG's possible names (Tevinter):
Archons:
1.Darinius
2.Ishal
3.Vespasian

Magister:
4. Tlaxius
5. Cavellus
6. Wilhelm.

Huh, wasn't Wilhelm the mage that owned Shale? Maybe that's just a very common name. I like it though, one of the villains in Xenosaga was named Wilhelm.

Vespasian sort of has a ring to it but seems rather long.

Ooh, Melos has a nice sound to it.

@leona, Exactly why I picked Wilhelm. He's related to Shale...one of the theory people had come up here.

I pick the name based on their back story. Vespasian was the Archon who turned his consort into stone (that stone in the Tower's basement?)

Vespasian was a Roman emperor who became famous for being impossibly stingy and for ordering the installation of public toilets in the streets to prevent people from pissing everywhere.
Here in Italy, said toilets are still known as "Vespasians".
You sure you want that name?

@leonia:

Dane is also good, but it's a Ferealdon hero, not related to Free Marches whatsoever.

I picked the name based on their back story, dear. It may not be David's choice, you see.
just guessing here.

Hey nothing wrong with some personal hygiene, I wouldn't want people pissing in the streets either.

Trying to guess MEG's exact name is going to be like trying to find a needle in a haystack though. As far as I can tell, there's no real pattern to the names Gaider chooses for his characters (though there are the rules of naming that he's mentioned before). And we don't know for sure if MEG is from Tevinter or the Free Marches or wherever yet so that limits us further.

About all we know for sure is: male and elf.

Still, it's fun to guess.

He should be named Steve. So if he really is a golem, maybe there is an army of Steves out there...

@Tamyn, there were two Aveline already. So that role doesn't apply.

David mentioned in one of the thread here he put Aveline in the Codes story for a reason (it was one of the stories Leliana told the Warden). So I am now searching through the codex entry to see any significant names pop up, preferably related to Tevinter....or Elves.

lol no, now that's stretching it. :P

Wait a second.

Really though, no, I just meant, you know. Planet. Spherical. I thought it was a funny image, a spherical building with a big magic neon sign saying "Planet of Steves."

The Shale theory seems like a stretch to me.

Arl Foreshadow strongly suggests survivors from Arlathan. And the writers may have eased the explaining of the Qunari motives from a companions perspective, by adding a Qunari unlike Sten. These seem like the strongest theories to me.

But if he is a Qunari, then who is that bulky guy from that "Deep Roads" artwork? And where does it specifically say that any Arlathan would turn automatically and immediately mortal just basically by looking at a human?

Or he could.. be like Arwen and choose to give his immortality up or something.

The immortal being falling in love with a mortal being love story thing is somewhat overdone and it's usually tragic.
