Well it could be one of the names of your list, but just because David Gaider names one character (Aveline) after a hero doesn't mean it will be all characters.



But that doesn't mean I will help pick the name that would fit the best with him. That's why I said that there was a small chance that it was Dane or Hafter.

In light of that, I've mentally named him Painted Elf Two, or PET, since it would be interesting to knock his ego down a peg or two.

I missed this one! Huh, this isn't a terrible one at all. It'd be awesome if we'd get insight into the mirrors for DA2. I assumed we would only hear about them in passing.

Which is why I search the legend and folklore. You will never know. He could be Sandles creation for all I know.

*lol* You're not the only one! But though I waggle my eyebrows suggestively, it would be unethical and therefore not fun to do him while he's a slave if he has to do what I say against his will. I want a willing slave! 

Ahem. I totally agree with you about mixing the unconventional with the conventional--spices things up. I think Aveline's concept art is particularly awesome in that regard, not to mention Meg of course. She's tough enough to make me respect and admire her, but still all woman. He's pretty, but not so pretty I have any doubt in my mind what he's packing under that loincloth. I love characters like that, who aren't strictly androgynous but don't go too hard in either direction. Studies suggest, after all, that more androgynous people tend to be happy than people who are too drastically one extreme or the other (i.e. very stereotypically masculine or feminine).

About Isolde, though, I preferred being able to choose in a way. You could have a happy, shiny ending if you wanted it... or decide, "Screw it, it makes no sense that waiting works, time to get this done" and do the poetic sacrifice with Isolde. I've tried both. It's actually pretty satisfying when she dies because she's the single most annoying character in the entire game from her accent by itself, let alone the horrible, stupid things she does, and then I at least can forgive her a little.

In most cases, at least where there is a clever yet easily reachable third option, I drastically prefer being able to choose whether I have a happy ending. But in some cases, I like it if there isn't always a good outcome, just a less sucky one, or a more awesome one. I like grey choices like that, where the player can determine what matters to them and there's no obvious best option--you have to work for that happy ending instead of having it handed to you. I mean, if you go to the Circle you basically know you can have everything work out almost-perfect... I didn't find it to be 100% realistic, I have to admit. So some less clear paths would be lovely for DA2.

Me too! I love that he looks like he's been through a lot... and like he's skeptical of everything that comes his way, and doesn't show his true emotions easily. Rugged and steely are both very apt adjectives for him, too. The look in his eyes--I can see LadyHawke having trouble deciding whether to melt like butter or prepare for battle.

*sober face* NO. They can't be that mean to us. They just can't be. I refuse to believe it. I support that in principle, but it's hard enough to design a character that women universally drool over that they can't make someone that hot and not make him romanceable. Hell, I'd rather he be strictly gay than fully non-romanceable.

They wouldn't be that mean to us. They just wouldn't. Ladies and gay guys have it too hard in gaming these days already. We deserve at least a sexy elf somewhere! At least!   (Not that Zevran wasn't one in a way, but he's so not even on Meg's level, at least visually!)

*deflates* As much as I protest, I know you're probably right. He is just awesome NPC model #42 and he will show up for us to kill him about seventy times during the course of the game. And Gaider will be slapping the desk, his shoulders shaking violently as he dabs at his eyes with a handkerchief, because the concept art was just so good that it made us go insane and draw awesome and/or hilarious pictures about one of the generic assassin guys.
