On one hand, I'd love some Meg news round about now, but on the other, I kind of like the rampant speculation and not knowing. And, of course, the fact that we've fawned over a single piece of concept art and some blurry ingame shots for 133 pages.

In the vidcap I will say that I do like the exotic, aristocratic facial features, the hair, and the fact that he's unusually slight. Zevran had such a broad chest before mods; I just didn't feel like it fit an elf. Plus, being skinny makes sense for Meg if he's a slave or even former slave. And the clothes are pretty awesome (are those feathery skeletal gloves on his hands?) as well as the hint of tattooes on his feet. But in any case they should make something that looks like the concept art because that was super-awesome, and I actually think the outfit he's wearing in the vid looks more mage-y than roguish or warrior-like.

And I miss the blue face tattooes! Those were awe-inspiring. Hopefully the finished Meg is somewhere between the two. I'm not sure yet that that's actually Meg, honestly--if there are often Tevinter slaves in the Free Marches, that could just be a random NPC.

From what I can see, the blue tattoos are the ONLY things that changed. If you compare his face to his feet on the screenshot, it looks like his weird skintone is just a lighting issue. As for his clothes, look at the shape. His outfit is EXACTLY the same in-game that it is in his concept art. The only thing that looks different is the color of his shirt. Considering how weird his face looks, that's probably not an accurate representation of that, either.

I'm quite pleased with how he looks in game, simply because I don't think he looks all that different. Of course the difference between a 2D drawing and a 3D model is quite jarring at first, but upon closely comparing the two, you'll find they remained quite faithful to his concept art.

MEG managed to work his way into my dream last night (that's what I get for foruming before bed) and in the last nanoseconds of it my brain supplied that his name was "Fawn" due to the white spots. It was so absurd and nothankyou that I woke up.

it is, at least Bishop made me feel like a woman, with his cool eyes
and his sexy voice and his tortured "life has damaged me beyond repair,
too bad things work out for girls like you and not guys like me" vibe.

I found Cas's "You are a delicate innocent flower that can't fend for itself and must be protected from the big bad man!" thing to be actually a smidge insulting. I was like, "Sure, protect me all you want and I'll think it's sweet, but only up 'til the point where you insult my competence, biatch!"

We so do need to know Meg's name! Hopefully that will come around in the next month as the press starts playing their beta copies of DA2. *bounces a little in her chair* I am so ready!

I too am crossing my fingers about the bad lighting, but I'm still not sure it's Meg. You'd think so, and it would make perfect sense if it was him, but I've seen things get shot down before that seemed certain, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I swear, unless I'm totally off, he is JUST your speed. He's hot, he's romantic, but not too much of a good boy at the same time. Like, 50% normal guy, 25% good boy, and 25% bad boy wrapped up in a handsome, charming package. He learns things from the player without being clingy or dependent, just making it clear that she's changed his way of thinking about the world he lives in. And his personal quest is so unique and cool, finding out a suggestion for why even though he's a hagspawn he's so hot, unlike all other hagspawn ever. It's tragic, but moving, and in an understated way that makes him relearn some of his suppositions.

Honestly, he's my favorite romance for females, even counting in the Bioware love interests. *winces at admitting that* None of them have quite hit the mark for me like Gann did. That may change, but so far even the ones I loved the best and thought had a ton of merit to them (Carth, Alistair, Valen) I didn't love as much as Gann--maybe it's just my personality and tastes, but I felt he was perfect, and most girls I've talked to felt more or less the same.

Seriously... MotB has this much more mystic, mysterious feel than NWN2 did; they really pulled out the stops. (The spirit eater thing was annoying to me, but there are fan patches and/or cheats if it annoys.) You should so play it on its own merits, let alone for Gann's bucketload of quiet, understated win.

Aww, shucks. I guess I just like the goth boys. I thought Bishop's sort of flamboyant-yet-manly-and-dark way of speaking was distinctive and charming, like he was constantly dishing in a way that could have made him seem like a campy gay friend if it hadn't been so deep. I found that endearing and unique. But I totally agree about the Bishop's romance VO, and Casavir too.
