"Not bad, for a human." The voice came from the trees to her left. As she turned towards the sound, she saw an elf sauntering out of the darkness. He wasn't like the other elves she'd seen. He was clean and looked relatively well fed, but his clothing was clearly not Dalish. And he had strange glowing tattos all over his body. They seemed to trace the veins under his skin. His eyes were the color of stormclouds and were fixed on her face, not the sword prepared to cut off his head.
"Ugh. Disgusting things, aren't they?" he said as he poked one with his toe. He wasn't wearing any shoes! Who in the world runs around a forest in bare feet?
"Who are you?" she demanded.
"You aren't quite like the other human refugees. You know how to fight instead of running at the first sign of trouble. And a rather pretty human, too."
"I will not be ignored. Who are you?" she said, pointing the tip of her blade at his throat.
"You really shouldn't try to engage a foe that you don't know." he said, with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"Tell me your name, then I'll know you."
"I very much doubt that, my dear."
*fixed a spelling mistake

It also adds to tankgirly speculation that we'll meet him in a forest

Let me know beforehand, so I can shut myslef in a sound proof box or something. I would be happy if my ear drums were intact so I could listen to Meg's voice:)kwintessa wrote...
That dialogue should totally be in the game. I would squee with the strength of a thousand suns.

You'd need more than a soundproof box to hide from my inner fangirl.
Speaking of Meg's voice, I wonder whom his voice actor will be. And if his accent is... Welsh-y.

I doubt it will be Welsh-y. as he is not Dalish. I'm hoping something along the lines of Crispin Freeman...kwintessa wrote...

I dunno why, but I think Gunther/MEG’s voice will be kind of be a softish, deep tone in a quiet, tentative way. If that makes any sense.
So... a soft-spoken yet firm sort of guy? I would like that. He seems the type.
@ Margaret I WOULD REALLY LIKE THAT. And why do I always forget he's not Dalish? I will blame it on my instability just for the heck of it.
Edit: I laugh at my sig every time I log in. For some reason I can't help flirting with Alistair in-game just to hear that joke, and then, usually afterwards, I end up shamelessly breaking his heart for Zev.

I will be so sad if he is not an LI. He looks snarky, I love a snarky LI. And I love an Elf LI, and for what ever reason, as much as I loved Zev, we never worked as a couple. And did anyone else think that Meg had a snarky "hmph" look on his face? I see a roguish jaded sarcasm, an "I've seen it all, and frankly, I wasn't that impressed" thing going on, but then Hawke comes along with the reckless joie de vivre and ambient chaos of a hero, and Meg, like someone trying a chocolate truffle for the first time, is surprised to find, under the fold foil and hard chocolate coating, a novelty, something unexpected, something marvelous, something very tasty; Meg comes to see Hawke as something he both wants to savor and devour, something deserving to be both marveled at and respected, something you should share with the world, but desire to keep all to yourself.
That's just what I'm hoping for, but really since it is David Gaider writing Meg, I'm geussing I'm going to enjoy him regardless of the particulars.
Also I have decided he will always be "Meg" to me, no matter his "real" name. I now dream of riding of into the sunset, on a Derpicorn, with a elf named Meg.
Also I am so sure that this is an unnecessary contribution, but "Squeeeeeeeeeeee!"

You read every page of this madness? I'm... impressed!
And yes, that's pretty much exactly what I saw when I looked at the concept art, too.
