Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf, the Trickster God. Ravens are regarded as tricksters throughout mythology. His costume contains dark feathers. I'm also seeing the wolf connection in the claws and bare feet, and now that I'm in this mode of thinking, his features are a bit canine, too. Glowing tattoos... yeah, I'm entirely set on this idea until the game proves me wrong or right.

Fen'Harel in disguise or someone he resides in without him knowing.

Fen'Harel and Flemeth fighting for control of the material realm would then make sense.

I'll never know, but if Mr. Gaider just swore, or chuckled, or whatever the hell a writer does when someone figures out a huge plot twist from a single picture, I'm glad.

But that canonizes gods, if you ask me. The Tevinter religion reminded me more of blind worshiping of powerful, or strange creatures without any sort of divinity on their behalf--or, perhaps they were Old Gods, if you want to believe, cursed by the Maker. Seeing Fen'Heral is too much like having a conversation with the Maker. It either confirms (or debunks, if it turns out Gunther's not really a god) a certain religion. I'm in favor of never finding out if any of the religions are right.

It really would be neat if Meg is a shape-shifting warrior or whatever.  Him being Fen'Harel even has merit, but damn, he would be so old.

My question is this. If you know an extremely specific type of magic, like shape-shifting, but nothing else, are you a mage?

Maybe he thinks he is Fen'Harel or an agent of Fen'Harel but not actually the god itself. I dunno but the bare feet in particular have me stumped.

It could just be an extremely powerful fade spirit, or something. The Elves could have been unable to make the distinction between spirit and god. Again, I'm just speculating, but at this point, it's all we can do.

I propose that he is a lust demon who disguised itself as a goat, who then disguised itself as a male elf. A sexy one.

Who is chaste.

Well, Hawke did use blood magic as a warrior in that trailer.  Not that I'm really invested in my wild speculation. :)

I love how chastity warrants the protest, but not the goat... thing.

This reminds me of the time Mordin turned me down. Sad times.

Well, that's my point. Either he's a Fade spirit, and the elven gods are debunked, or he's a god, and they were right, and probably the Maker doesn't exist.

It has to answer a question one way or the other, unless he never gains back his memories...and then you'd probably never find out at all, would you? If he gets back his memories but not his god powers, then there's no credibility to him being Fen'Heral, and not a nut.

Why would this even be brought up unless he got back his powers? If he didn't, he'd just be some whackjob, no more credible than Leliana. It wouldn't serve any sort of story purpose. I'd assume he had to get his powers back. And if he did, well, that'd probably answer the question of whether he's a celestial divine being or just a Fade spirit.

Honestly, we have no way of knowing, so I don't see the point in arguing about this topic. I'm just creating a hypothesis using the information I have. I haven't thought it through too much. Just some interesting late-night reading for forum-goers.

Here's another thought. If he is Fen'Harel, and he is a god, and there is a romance... Hawke could end up pregnant with a god-baby.

Squick. It makes less and less sense every minute. I would just really like to be right about this.

Or at the end of the campaign, if you aren't a female or haven't romanced Fen'Harel, he will force himself on Isabela.... AND STILL MAKE THE GOD BABY.

If I'm reading the Wiki right, Feh'Harel is described as kin to the Gods; not as a real God. So yeah, Meg could be him, and not break the 'are the gods real or not' rule.

Nope, he was a god. He played both sides, but he's one of the five gods in the Elven pantheon.

This reminds me of that bad joke, except inserting Meg.
"I have a relationship with Fen'Harel."
"So you're religious?"
"No."
"But you said-"
"I said I have a relationship, not a religion."
/end random association

This thread had me at 'sexy-elf man'. Damn you... damn you all.<3

It had me even more by his image. I don't usually participate in the 'IZZZ S/HE SMEXABLE?!' fangasms, but... Hawkette wants... wants with the white hot intensity of a thousand upgraded fireballs! And reading all of Evil Chris's comments are not helping.

Stop messing with my fangirl mind and being evil for one second, man!

If he's a LI(PLEASE BE AN LI), then all I hope is that he doesn't have ex issues or be a Zev-copy. And now that I know Gaider wrote him... I'm even more hooked. *crosses fingers*

There are no trailers where warrior Hawke uses blood magic. There are two trailers that show blood mage Hawke.
