I preferred the Zev romance, but I don't want another Crow.
I agree. What would be the new spin on it? Zevran both enjoyed and disliked being a Crow. He kinda had it covered.
And, two things:
1) Zevran's concept incorporated crow feathers, but his actual design did not
2) Morrigan's outfit incorporates crow feathers

I'm going to subscribe to the "related somehow to Fen'Harel" theory for now.
And he needs some shoes.
I know who can get him some shoes. Nice ones. With ribbons. Not like Fereldan shoes. So shapeless and ugly.

Leliana approved +10
Also, there are large areas of lore we know nothing about.

No way I'm tracking down another pair of Antivan leather boots for another male elf! I don't care how cute he is *grumble grumble*

Well, you could give them to him and then stare him down until he handed them back. That was always nice.

Elf dude -> Elf dude with boots
Aveline -> Aveline with sleeves
Isabela -> Isabella with pants
Varric -> Varric with shirt

He appears on a later page next to Varric and others, within the article on DA:2. And David Gaider said he wrote him. I'd say that confirms his presence.
Are you suggesting an in-game screenshot, Shorts? Yes. I will call you that from now on. Upsetting sounds a little melodramatic.

It's a row of concept art.

No, it's more like their character art is next to each other in something of a lineup.
And you wouldn't say that it was melodramatic if you saw the shorts! That kid isn't wearing the worst example in MST3K history, it's just the easiest example for me to find.

Maybe he's not a Dalish elf, but didn't Morrigan say that her shapeshifting magic was very, very old, learned in the farthest corners of... Somewhere, and that it was elvish magic? So maybe this elf is not a mage, but he does have the ability to shapeshift into a crow, (or raven) hence all the feathers. Sort of like Flemeth shapeshifts into a horned dragon, and her eyes are still yellow and her hair looks like it still has dragon horns.
He isn't a mage ether. That is a prerequisite of shapeshifting.

I said maybe this elf is not a mage, but in being an elf, he might have some sort of elvish magic inherent to him.
Then he'd be a mage, wouldn't he?

I don't think he is a crow.

Nothing against elves or dwarves, but if Varric *and* mystery-elf are both LIs than I cry pixelated tears for LadyHawke's cricked neck. I have a vertical fetish that only a qunari can satisfy.

Would Arlathan elves differ (physically) from city or dalish elves? This could explain away the stubble, and also give room for him to be taller than, say, Zevran.

Since when is he tall? And since when does he have stubble?

I think Varric only has a shot at LI status if there are 6 romanceables.

Not saying he's tall, I'm wondering if it's a possibility that he'll be taller than your average elf.
Also, look at the concept art - I spy stubble or some very, very suspect shadowing.
