That's exactly what I was thinking. He's not technically a mage, but the glowing lines allude to some sort of magic. So maybe he's a whatever the term in Arlathan is for mage. Still a magic user, but not technically a mage.


Oh, come on. Alistair went all glowy when he used Templar powers, and he definitely wasn't a mage. Shale glowed--she was powered by lyrium, sure, but she wasn't a mage.

More things glow in DA than just spell casters.


We know that, but the idea was that maybe Meg was capable of shapeshifting into a bird, hence all the feathers on his armor. And then Herr argued that in order to shape shift, you have to be a mage. Hence this conversation. It wasn't really about the glowy parts.

I can see this one being very reserved (like sten) but a lot more cynical and easier to pass judgement. A dream come true really.

I mustn't have read back far enough then, my apologies.  But I will assume that it's already been pointed out that Zevran's concept art had feathers too. :)

You're right. We're trying to twist DG's words around to make it fit. And it just doesn't fit.

So Meg is a Crow (makes sense, lots of feathers and Antiva is not far from the Free Marches), a rogue with the subclass/specialization of Acrobat (why he doesn't wear shoes). And glowy lines is just part of the suit. And yes he has stubble.

And just because there's already been a Elven Antivan Crow in DAO does not mean that there won't be another in DA2.

(and I just think about it but he seriously looks like a male version of my city elven chick.... who have white hair after washing her head with stain-remover for carpets....)

Perhaps he is a (former) slave elf from Tevinter Imperium? Magic is a big deal there and his style reminds me of Tevinter's robes, and all the illustrations / design related to ancient Tevinter.

Or perhaps, just perhaps, he is one of the ancient immortal elves that the Dalish frequently talk about. His tattoos and design do remind me of the Dalish / Dwarven / Tevinter ruins.

I'd be willing to bet that the final design for this guy looks as much like that artwork as Wynne looked like her early artwork. He'll probably be a rogue with stylized armor, but no feathers, no glowing tattoos and no facial hair.
