Why wouldn't he?

Zevran was as poorly introduced as Morinth.  There is no rational reason to spare the guy.

Just like there's no rational reason to hang around Ferelden gathering treaties when you could go across the border, get a bunch of the experienced Grey Wardens there, and then tackle the treaties with several groups instead of one whose very likely destruction would leave Ferelden doomed and the Grey Warden's ignorant of whether there' a Blight or not.

The PC isn't much of a rational agent to begin with. Why start after being attacked by assassins?

Ha!  Well put.  But it wouldn't be much of a game if the PC was rational, would it?  And I won't even start with inviting a golem along that just admitted to killing her master.  Or a giant quanari that just slaughtered a family that helped him.  Or a random creepy chick who is convinced the Maker is talking to her.

Now why would you do such a thing?

Why wouldn't he?

The only reason not to kill him inmediately would be to learn something about his contractors, then kill him.

That's a very good and wise reason to speak with him.  Mercy is a very good reason to spare him thereafter as he has never had a chance.

None of those people had just attempted to kill the Warden. It isn't quite the same. I could just as easily say my Warden, in a violent rage, irrationally killed Zevran out of revenge for the attempt.

I mean, from where I sit there are few reasons to save him beyond metagaming. I said few, not no reasons to, though. And the fact that he can and does betray you later if you haven't worked up enough approval means I like the way Zevran was implemented in the game.

As in the wolf son of Loki who bit off the hand of Tyr and is prophecied to kill Odin?

*Lightbulb* That explains his assassination methods!

I'm really liking the idea of MEG being Orlesian, and/or a bard, maybe even one of the Empress' personal ones that Leliana talked about - that could be interesting. And it could explain the eccentricity. Plus,  French accents. *swoon*

This is all speculation, anyway... while his armour might imply rogue-ness, I'm liking the image of him swinging around a huge broadsword. I'm sure that sort of weapon needs agility to use well... and MEG definitely looks agile to me. ;)

One wonders how reliable this birdy is.

But that is a pretty cool name regardless. Hm.

Killing folks was his job, it was nothing personal.  Sten killed a family and children because he couldn't find his sword... that's nuts.

I don't see what can happen later with Z in denerim as betrayal, I see it has him being loyal to his friend Taliesen.

Technically yes, but imo that Warden deserves to be betrayed within that situation.  Standing up for a friend is commendable.
I don't think it's treacherous he was put in a situation where he had to make a difficult choice he chooses the one he cares for most - as most people would in the same situation.

Anyway, If MEG is anywhere near as Awsome as Zev I'll be well happyPosted Image

No, it is the wolf-son of a deity (Loki) that was used as the all around puppy for a couple of years in Asgard until it became too strong to have as one. They then decided to chain it up, but it broke even the mightiest of chains, Fenris saw it almost as a game. So they went with witchcraft and snared it in with a thin thread, Fenris was however wary and demanded that a god would put his or her hand in his mouth if it was trickery. Tyr did, trickery it was and Fenris was reigned in.

At Ragnarök he'll break loose and kill Odin.

That is what I remember off the top of my head.

I'm also going to speculate that Arlathan elves would be the same height as other elves, if only to save work on body models.

As much as i like the shorter elves in DAO, supposedly they only got this way after the fall of Arlathan. So if that's a survivor he is likely to be taller... maybe they'll use the human body model instead, if that's the case?
