Hey, so, um...whatever you do, DON'T tell us anything new or interesting about Meg. Grrrr and so forth. That would cause lots and lots of rage, I'm sure. So...definitely don't do that.

Okay.

Crap! The reverse  psychology tactic didn't work!

Does he get a pet as well? I'd go with a Wrath abomination in the form of a beaver.

-Insert lewd joke here-

My vote is still for serial-killing, shape-shifting, hobo sexbomb.

I like this theory. It sits right up with those murderous, adorable unicorns. 8D

Well, any good serial-killing, shape-shifting, hobo sexbomb needs a noble steed. Posted Image

I want to draw this... Right now.

I personally think he is some hybrid class. Like ME2, Samara was a adept with the soldier only assault rifle and Thane was an infiltrator with biotics instead of tech powers. The player cannot do anything like that but the teammates can. I think Gunther/Meg is a rogue/mage-ish class but is not completely classified as a mage so Gaider would be telling the truth by saying he is not a mage even though he still has some magic abilities.

Either that, or its some sort of character specific specialization (like Isabela's Swashbuckler thing).

Yeah thats what I mean except while Isabela's Swashbuckler still is completely roguish, Gunther's specific talent tree/specialization combines two classes, something Hawke can't do.

Hybrid class??  Weren't we supposed to be getting rid of those in favor of making the classes more distinct?

Well it is distinct for Hawke.  They didn't specify for companions and it would be a way to make companions unique.

Now why would you do such a thing?

Why wouldn't he?

Zevran was as poorly introduced as Morinth.  There is no rational reason to spare the guy.

You mean aside from the fact that he's ridiculously awesome?

How would you know that unless you spared him? Which would be incredibly stupid in a real life scenario. Thank the maker for make believe.

He's pretty awesome in the conversation you can have with him while deciding whether to spare him.
Admittedly he doesn't particularly reassure me that he's not going to kill me, but he does give the impression that if he does it will be in a stylish and witty way.

Just like there's no rational reason to hang around Ferelden gathering treaties when you could go across the border, get a bunch of the experienced Grey Wardens there, and then tackle the treaties with several groups instead of one whose very likely destruction would leave Ferelden doomed and the Grey Warden's ignorant of whether there' a Blight or not.

The PC isn't much of a rational agent to begin with. Why start after being attacked by assassins?

The grey wardens in Orlais knew exactly what was going on.  Kailan told them and I think Duncan was also in contact with them. They were on their way until Loghain stopped them at the border.  When you ask alistair he says it would take far more time to go to Orlais.

I don't quite understand the rest of what you're saying.

"and then tackle the treaties with several groups instead of one whose very likely destruction would leave Ferelden doomed"

Huh?

The Old Spice guy would approve of a hearty specimen like Varric using his phrases. I don't remember Old Spice smelling like flowers and sunshine.

Okay.

Bah. I can never pull off reverse psychology.

You'll notice that Gaider did NOT say:

"He is not a Crow."

and

"He is not a Rogue."

...Though, I don't think he's going to play Twenty Questions with us, anyway.

The Varric lovers must have felt a disturbance in the Force.

Just hold yourself tight and hope that Mary isn't half as cruel as David says she is. Elf boy has love interest written all over him, which means there's one slot for Varric to fill and we haven't seen all the companions yet.

While I agree, the white hair is starting to make me nervous.  He's going to end up being Flemeth's 80 year old long lost lover or something.  Then I'll cry.

Both of the main love interests in Dragon Age: Origins, Morrigan and Alistair, could offer gut punches to the PC. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened in DA 2.

If there were no gut punches, it wouldn't be DA. What could Meg's be? "I may be in love with you, but I'm immortal so we can't get too attached. cya kthxbai." *runs off on murderous unicorn*
