I'm not quite ready to call myself a pervy elf fancier just yet. That is some appealing concept art, but I'll need to see him in game first. And if it is Shiny, well, deal sealed.
I'm an elf fancier, not a pervy one, but a fancier
(God I love elves)

Ooooh, thats a good point about the whole survivor of Arlathan thing. Figure Hawke will go to Sundermount or whatever for some ancient Elven lore, then you've got the Strider/Varterral too.
Guy looks pretty good I guess if he's some hundreds or thousands of years old.

Finding a whole bunch of scrolls is anti-climatic, finding a huge-bum scroll and reading it out-loud is boring, having a ghost NPC is too Vigil and some ruins and statues surely cannot tell everything what happened, if there is a lot to tell.

Well he could be an elven guardian spirit who's 700 years old, so then he would be a ghost and unromanceable
He looks pretty tangible in that picture. As long as I am able to touch it, magic will happen.
It was a spooky ghost! Ectoplasm!
To quote Anders, "Ewwww."

No matter what, there will be fanfic. But the more there is to base it off of, the better. ^.^

I don't mind fanfic. But I still prefer to actually see him romancable in game.
Anders/Nate is enough for me.

It is much preferable to have him romanceable in game, yes.
I'm rather liking the Arlathan theory...as long as that doesn't impact the chance for romance.

You won't be able to romance him because he's immortal; only another elf would do.

I wasn't aware a nonelf couldn't romance an immortal elf. I thought they could, but that it would just take away the immortality.

I meant he'll want to hang on to his immortality. He'll just turn you down.
It's one of my theories, along with a heart-breaking death scene where he finally professes his love for Hawke.

Ha- it'll be like Arwen and Aragorn- does he give up his immortality to be with Lady Hawke? *gags*
If he is some Arlathan dude, I'd wager this all ties in to the amulet Flemeth tells Hawke to deliver to the Dalish which in turn leads to whatever it is that Flemeth is doing in DA2 with her mage army, which in turn leads to the Chantry's downfall, which in turn leads to Morrigan, the Warden and Old God Baby coming BACK IN DA3 TO SAVE THE DAY!!!! WOOOOOHOOO!
Thats how I'll muster up excitement for DA2!

Rather him being a random farm elf who just fell into a tub of lyrium and feathers, who is into Hawkette, than an ancient and enigmatic elf from Arlathan, who just may not be into her?

If he is connected to Arlathan it would seem to indicate that it ties in with Flemeth's package to the Dalish, isn't Witch Hunt set far enough in the future that it won't of happened by the time we get to Kirkwall? I wonder if Hawke meeting the Dalish clan to deliver the package will mix in with the Witch Hunt stuff before leading to the recruitment of Meg,
I'm guessing people have speculated that the package Flemeth gives Hawke is the book Morrigan steals from the Dalish already? Or maybe another of those mirrors is involved.
Ugh speculation.
