Apparently shirtless=gay. I've been doing it wrong this whole time.
I guess we'll have to take classes and learn how to be the right kind of gay. While not kissing eachother. Man, who knew being gay was so hard!

It's hard enough that according to this thread, I've been gay all along and never knew it. <_<

The elf we're gushing about has human proportions in his concept art.
Well, the implication I was attempting to make is that artists find the scrawny look of elves or the barrel-chest of dwarves inherently unattractive and supplement a more traditional version in, not that they're pathetic for doing so or anything. This applies to the concept art of a (probably) LI elf, too. In order to make him look attractive, he's been given a much more muscular body and stronger features than what is (or was) typical of DA elves.
I can't say I've actually gushed over him, though. I'm happy to see a likely female LI, but I'm not particularly sold on him or anything.
I... wha?
I beg to differ about your perception of concept artists, since the point of concept art is to show other people your ideas and eventually what they need to model, and not with footnotes like "I preferred to draw him like this but could you make him like that, because he's not actually supposed to look like this."
As for elf man, since the humans in the game have a more heroic stature than you or I, even if Elf Man had the proportions of a real human he would look different enough from the ones in-game. He's got much more tapered limbs than any human I've seen in the game.

PFFT. Had I a drink it would now be sprayed all over my desk.

Regardless, just be glad this thread came along to help you make some major life choices.

Yes. Major life choices.
Like which brand of cereal to buy tomorrow.
Or whether to have oatmeal or a egg, cheese, and sausage breakfast sandwich.

So I've heard that Meg has stubble, and now I've heard that the stubble is actually scars. I still think its stubble. Not sure where the scars idea came from.

I sort of think Saibh was talking more about fanart than concept art there, though she did mention the concept for Meg.
I got that too until she included concept artists in that mix.
As for the fanartists, it's hard enough to learn and understand anatomy when it's just human proportions.

That's some odd-scarring. It still looks like stubble to me.

Nerivant, I recommend watching every episode of Little Britain.
Will Fawlty Towers do? I've got that on hand.
I'm also in the stubble-boat. That was my first impression, and I can't see it being anything else. It also falls in with my Fen'Harel theory, confirmation bias be damned.

Like that sexy picture of Oghren.
He looks bearish. Like a gay buff cowboy after an exhausting day of stacking hay and roping bulls. Man, he was probaly all sweaty and glistening after a long day out in the heat.

A thousand times yes.
Pretty sure it's stubble. If we're on the "dark-gritty-sexy" boat, stubble has that in spades. Elves are already taller, what's some extra stubble going to do?
Bears aren't that slim. Bears are... well... bear-ish, and way closer to a traditional dwarf physique than our sexy Oghren over here.
