if that was the case, i'd probably do this:
hawke looks at meg
hawke: i'm sorry, i'm so sorry...(props to anyone who gets this reference:P)
proceeds to decapitate the elf and burn it's corpse
good guess but it's more like this

I think Stephen King spoke for me: "The real difference [between J. K. Rowling and Meyer] is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."
There are also a few other reasons, but I'm not going to name them here.

You want Twilight kept away from MEG because you see Meyers as a bad writer?

I'm not sure if I want MEG to be a creepy stalker or a spinless damsel in distress. Just my opinion, though.Maria Caliban wrote...

the only thing that should sparkle on meg is the romantic relationship with hawke, nothing more

Eh. I didn't think J.K. Rowling was a very good writer, either. That was the main reason I tossed Harry Potter aside. Granted, she might have gotten better later on in the series.Annie_Dear wrote...

I'm not sure I'd worry about elf dude being damaged by association to Twilight, however. I'm more worried about damage due to association with this thread.

Re: Twilight - this is as close as I got to reading it. Though I saw the movie with accompanying Rifftrax.

This must be in the 90% category so I'll answer plainly: of course it is. Meyer is a bad writer with remarkably naive ideas. I could go into why I think she has naive ideas, but forum rules won't allow it.

Jacob was cool. As long as you didn't play FemShep and try to talk to him in the Armory - and in that case, Jennifer Hale was a big part of the problem. Otherwise he's great.

Yep. Jacob was cool until romance came up.

Do you think he's barefoot during the winter? If so - he's a god among men.
Then Cody from Dual Survival is your long lost loveAfterall, he's the only RL person I know of that actually goes barefoot... everywhere... no matter the season or terrain..
Actually, people running around in bare feet isn't that uncommon. And many people are quite capable of running around naked in the snow--your body is quite effective at keeping itself warm, although you will consume calories at a tremendous rate (and get exhausted--you keep yourself warm via muscle motion and you can't do it while you're asleep) if you do this regularly. (And if it's cold enough, your body won't be able to keep up, there's a limit to everything.) Wearing heavier clothing to keep warm in winter in many places is more about conserving energy than actually staying warm.

or maybe because even IF Meyers was an incredibly good writer (which she is not), Twilight was absolutely awful and pretty much killed the very concept of vampires for me.....
mind you you are talking to someone whose final paper in high school to be presented to a panel of OUTSIDE examiners was titled "the figure of vampire through literary history" and who played V:tM and V:tDA for ...gee nearly what.... more than 10 years?
I mean I consider Laurell K Hamilton a good writer.....but her Anita Blake serie went SOOOOOOOO downhill after the 3d/4th book that I'd not want anything remotely associated to it to touch DA2
