What, do you think we're dense? Are we retarded?

Yeesh, settle down. I don't read many comic books. I didn't know the line was common knowledge.

Hey hey, no harm meant. Check out the pic Brock posted.

I swear, you must be the first person I've ever seen who didn't get their own reference. hehe

@Angangseh.
That's what I mean, Morrigan went to Orlais to figure out how to use an Eluvian.
Whomever she learned it from could be in the Free Marches now...And there are probably more who can teach how to activate a Eluvian, like other Dalish. Remember the Dalish only come together once a year to share knowledge.

And I used the Eluvian in Witch Hunt as an example.

Just because The Warden & Co find out what an Eluvian is 2-3 years after Origins, doesn't have to mean that Hawke finds it around the same time.

Hell it would make sense if he finds it sooner, or else the story of Hawke and the Warden would collide.

To my understanding of Which Hunt, Morrigan only just got the Eluvian "up and working" about the same time as the warden was searching for her and she was only sticking about to see if it was truely you. In which case Hawke would find it "broken", as in not working as a portal.

The clan from the Dalish Origin is moving up north in DA:O, to Kirkwall.
And since they lost a clan member to the Eluvian it is possible they researcherd it, that or Flemeth helps them out with the package Hawke has to deliver to the Dalish clan. And according to BioWare dev's you meet Flemeth before Morrigan sends the Warden to kill her. So that's why there's a is a chance the Eluvian is opend before Morrigan knows how to open it.

That, or Meg opens it for the other side.

I couldn't put better words than that

In the last two DLC, they introduced something new we will meet again in DA II. In Golems of Amgarrak, we have the Harvesters. In Witch Hunt, it is very likely to be the Eluvian mirror.

There must be a  Eluvian mirror elsewhere in the Free Marches. And I am very curious what was in the package Flemeth wanted Hawk to deliver.

Maybe a select few considering (once again more info from Which Hunt) even the Dalish girl, (can't remember her name) who is also looking for Morrigan, Tribe / Keeper doesn't even know what an "Eluvian" is, It's ancient Elven language. Only do we find out what an "Eluvian" is when we meet Finn, someone who speacializes in languages. And even then it is one of the very few words he knows of teh ancient elven language.
I'm not saying that they aren't any other who know about the Eluvians, I'm just saying that most likley not very many people do considering Morrigan had to go all teh way to Orlais to find out some information.

@Tank.

They also introduced the Strider, wich is a new type of dragon I believe.

He must have come to the Dragonbonewastes to die, I mean there was obviously something wrong with him attacking a Dalish he is supposed to protect.

But yes I believe that the Eluvian will play an important part in DA 2 and future games.

It may not seem like it, but, as do I. I like agreeing with something! Posted Image Well the bit about it playing a huge role in future games. As for now i'm uncertain to say wether to say if it will play a major part in DA2, but surely it has to be mentioned... right?

The only reason Finn knew about it was because of a book.
I'm sure there are others that have aquired the knowledge.
Possibly Tevinters because Duncan mentions how the Eluvian is Tevinter in design.

But what if Meg is the one that taught Morrigan how to use the Eluvian?
He isn't Dalish, nor a mage. But he does seem to posses some things that look like they belonged to the Elves of old, maybe he figured out how to use the Eluvians for his own purposes.
How? Maybe he was a slave to a Tevinter mage and stole his research.

Edit: Sorry for changing topics, but I haven't played Witch Hunt yet so I'm trying to skip all comments that seem witch hunter-y.

Okay, I was skimming through the pages when it suddenly struck me: Meg is a warrior. If he is a companion, that is. Because... just imagine if you make your Hawke a rogue. Then you'd have four rogues, and holy cow that's a lot of rogues.

Sure, they can have different specalizations and so, but... considering that you ususally just bring one rogue with you, I think it's more likely that the warriors should outnumber the rogues. I don't know how many companions we'll have, so if we have like over 10 it would just be logical that there are more rogues, but somehow I doubt we'd get so many companions. I dunno, it could have something to do with that hoodie someone posted a picture of a while back. The one with seven silhuettos.

I might be dead wrong, of course (I usually am) but in my mind, Meg's a warrior now.

As for the bare feet, I'll come up with something later.

Yeas, the Tevinters, you coulf be onto something there.
As for this latest theory, it is... a bit far fetched(?), But im going to go ahead and say i like this idea. Hell i even like it better than my original idea which was epic fail.

It's a shame they put in that scene where Tamlen is a Shriek, would have been a funny twist if he'd actually been sucked into the Eluvian and returns in DA2 as Meg (with glowy veins or whatever they are).

I completely agree and have been saying as much since it was revealed he wouldn't be a Mage or Dalish. Just because he isn't wearing heavy armor in his concept art certainly doesn't rule him out, consider Aveline and Carver afterall. Plus if he was a rogue there would be even more Zevran comparisons than there are going to be anyway, it's possible the writers came up with a rogue character concept they just -had- to write, even though it was another male Elf, but I'm putting my money on warrior as well.

Elven warriors are pretty awesome in my book anyway. I just wish Meg was a she. :(

Now THAT would be cool, Although i suppose you would have had to have played a Dalish Elf or Witch Hunt to know that Tamlen dissapeared into the mirror. Unless they would introduce this knowledge in teh opening/beggining of DA2

I know it is far fetched, but no one knows who Meg is.
So who knows what is right. The Eluvian might have nothing to do with him at all.
But still, when I see his armour which resembels the Acient Elven armour from DA:O a little, and the Glowy tatoos. Then I just think there is more to him that meets the eye, a mysterious past. Maybe even a mysterious power that is different from magic.

Well if it were possible and Meg was Tamlen then they could easily describe his past (as needed) when you meet him and have any Dalish Origin unique bits coming from dialogue/side quests/cameos later on. I'm sure players who had a Dalish Warden wouldn't mind 'meeting' Tamlen again in that case.

Sadly of course, this wasn't poor Tamlen's fate.

I want to say Rogue because he looks dashing and shifty with an Antivan flare but I can deal with warrior too :D

I couldn't agree more, everything is just speculation at the moment, we know a whole 3 things about Meg. Though since we have such little information about Meg, our imaginations run wild, yes, it is fun (i don't know if fun is the right word) to think of such things. I'm pretty sure Meg will have a awsome background story to him being written my David Gaider and what not, but lets not get our hopes up, 'cause we all know if they do get crushed , they will feed on our tears!

Not that I mean that that part became Meg, but maybe it awakend Meg? As I remeber Acient Elves didn't die, they just went into century long slumbers. And I dunno, maybe Meg gained some of Tamlens memories seeing as the Eluvian was broken. Or he at least learned the current language and all from Tamlens memories.

I'm not making much sense...

No, I'm with you. It would be kinda cool to see another cool back to that Origin (which despite being a bit of a bore combat wise, was quite fascinating lore wise at times), and Tamlen got a rough deal - just think, if things had worked out differently he could have been in our (Dalish) Warden's boots!

I doubt it'll happen though.

Yes, Tamlen got screwed.
But in DA 2 I think we can visit the Clan from the Dalish Origin.
Maybe if you import your Dalish Warden's save you get some extra info, then again I'm hoping for some extra info in general. Like what happend to the Keeper, did everything go well for the clan after the Warden left? How did they end up so close to Kirkwall.

But maybe some background on Tamlen? That would be nice. He was your Wardens best friend but you barely knew him...
