I am going to laugh if this guy is someone insignificant and is hardly given any talk time or is a very minor role like that templar who will ferry you across the lake to get to the Circle Tower in Origins.

As it was suggested in the past, insignificant people don't get concept art. :?

I knew I liked those gauntlets for a reason, though it could simply be stylistic.

As for the blue on his chin and neck, I still feel even after my first gander that those blue lines are selective tattoos.  Elves seemed to have them often enough as it is.  I also wonder what is up with those three glowing circles..hmm.

What a day when Meg gets his own reveal, assuming he's a companion.  I have so many questions in need of answers!  So I really hope he's a companion at the least.

There must be a  Eluvian mirror elsewhere in the Free Marches. And I am very curious what was in the package Flemeth wanted Hawk to deliver.

Eh- I don't know that we'll necessarily find another ELuvian in the Free Marches. Its entirely possible, but I wouldn't necessarily count on it. As for the package Hawke is delivering for Flemeth, its an amulet.

They also introduced the Strider, wich is a new type of dragon I believe.
He
must have come to the Dragonbonewastes to die, I mean there was
obviously something wrong with him attacking a Dalish he is supposed to
protect.

But yes I believe that the Eluvian will play an important part in DA 2 and future games.

I'm pretty sure the Strider/Varterral isn't a dragon, it just shows up that way in WH since thats the highest creature type in DA. They're supposed to be guardians of ancient elven ruins and such created by the Elven Gods from rock, wind, rain and the trees to protect the Elves and their secrets. So you have an Eluvian in the Dragonbone wastes, brought there by the Tevinters and there is your reason for the Strider to be there.

That's what I mean, Morrigan went to Orlais to figure out how to use an Eluvian.
Whomever
she learned it from could be in the Free Marches now...And there are
probably more who can teach how to activate a Eluvian, like other
Dalish. Remember the Dalish only come together once a year to share
knowledge.

Maybe a select few considering (once again
more info from Which Hunt) even the Dalish girl, (can't remember her
name) who is also looking for Morrigan, Tribe / Keeper doesn't even know
what an "Eluvian" is, It's ancient Elven language. Only do we find out
what an "Eluvian" is when we meet Finn, someone who speacializes in
languages. And even then it is one of the very few words he knows of teh
ancient elven language.
I'm not saying that they aren't any other
who know about the Eluvians, I'm just saying that most likley not very
many people do considering Morrigan had to go all teh way to Orlais to
find out some information.

But do we know that MOrrigan even actually went to Orlais? It was rumored in the epilogue but we have no clue what she did after Origins. And we don't even know that she necessarily learned it from "someone"- it seems more likely she pieced together herself how to activate it, as she at least in part seemed to have learned about it from the book she stole from the Dalish. Yet, the Dalish themselves had no clue about what was in the book and it took an expert in Tevinter relics in Finn to know what an Eluvian was.

The question is- what the hell is beyond the Eluvian? Thats what I want to know- some place beyond the Fade- what could that be?

Well the blue tatoos seem to go around his neck like a collar, maybe he was a Tevinter Magisters Slave and that's the mark of one?

As for the glowing ones, I dunno... why do I get this strange feeling that he might be possesed by a demon and those tatoos keep the Demon, caged so to speak.

Funny how Flemeth in that screenshot is the best looking gal I've seen in DA2 so far.

Hear, hear! :D

@ Dave

Gosh, we surpass the guessing stage and onto the CSI concept art analysis now? Love this thread to bit. Not only it progress fast (really, by the time BW actually reveal something we might reach page 500), but our various approaching angles are just....mindblowing!

Wow, I know I've been on my RP forum too long when I come, see the Meg avatar, and go "OMG he posted!!!!" >.>

Out there idea, but would a Keeper be considered a mage? Or is that keeper confirmed somewhere to be female?

If Meg was possessed and the demon could subtly influenced Meg, now that would be intriguing. If this is so, I'd think it would be a pride demon. They seem like the most devious. Anywho, I wonder what story could have led to a bound demon situation where the person didn't look all yucky like an abomination.

A keeper is a Dalish mage.
And no, they don't always have to be a female. Remember  Zathrian?

Humph...there was a saying at one stage Flemeth was an abomination in human form. And look at Uldred. They could be in human form, just not as dashing as MEG.

I know they don't have to be female, I was referencing the keeper Flemeth mentions, sorry.

*le'sigh* It was a thought that perhaps it could be a play on words or something.  Meh.  It's late.

From what I heard Tevinter Magisters usually use Elven slaves in experiments. Usually as bloodbags when experimenting with Blood Magic.
But would it be so weird if a country that does not forbid Blood Magic, which is asociated with demons, tries to find out new ways to let demons do their bidding. I mean maybe Meg is only a test subject.
Like, maybe they want to use demons in combat, but make it so that it does not turn into chaos and that the mage that summons a demon does not become an abomanination himself. So he summons a demon, puts it in his slave and seals it. Now he has the power of a demon contained in a body much easier to command.

That's my thought anyway.

That keeper she mentioned in the screenshot? She's the keeper from the Dalish Clan origin.

Still i was crushed that Meg wasnt a dalish mage. Id like to know what makes their use of magic different from a circle mages....i understand magic is from the fade and a natural force in the world, maybe dalish magic use magic inherit in the elements, surroundings, etc. Yup, like a jeedai

Ohhh, thanks, I never would have made the connection on my own. I don't remember many names from the origin stories.

Okay, back to Arlathan, then, for my theory.

Indeed, Marethari. I still don't know why DG gave us clues though, just seems too... nice. *suspicious*

There are never enough tears for the writers.
Anyway it's 5:15 in the morning here in the Netherlands, so I'm getting some shut-eye.
See you all tomorrow.

All writers do. Can't wait to share the world with their creation. If he isn't bound by the contract/role not to reveal a thing until the company does it. I seriously suspecting we should all knwo who MEG is by now (nudge Eye of Sauron)

Now that's interesting idea. Though it reminds me a little of Wild Flower from Jade Empire.

I love her. There are some truly unique and innovative characters in JE. The definite saving point for me in the game. Henpecked Hou was another one I loved.

Come on. A sweet little girl posessed with a demon who has multple personality disorder as a fighting companion? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Well if the character himself is built well (as in the in-game version, not the concept image) he could be kinda sexy. That tattoos and hair are cool. At least he's a non-fem elf from appearances. Unlike Zevran. I hate that bastard. The feathers looked like rock at first look and reminded me of the Golem... thing (yeah I never used that companion thing so, yeah, its and IT to me)'s weapon/armor in a way with how the crystals change color.
