Hey all,
I was just curious about a party dillema I'm running into and was hoping someone would be able to shed some light on it for me.
A friend and I were discussing some party arrangements we were going to have, I said I was going to have my human noble warrior (templar/champion) alistair (this is mostly for his personality) morrigan (I like her personality and she is likely to be the romance interest in my first playthrough) and leliana (for the rogue aspect)
He brought up the issue of not having anyone who was a designated healer. I was planning on setting up morrigan with spirit healing, and I think having two tanks would be really beneficial.
My question is, should I look at switching alistair for wynne for a healing specific role? Or do you think Morrigan set up with some spirit healing be enough to support the party throughout the storyline?
Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm sure giving Morrigan the spirit healer specialization should suffice. If not then yeah go ahead and switch Alistar out for Wynne.

As long as you have A healer, you will be fine. Just don't be suprised if she spends most of her time healing, and not lobbing fireballs.

I think a Healer and a Rogue are essential in any party

Yeah, maybe I'm under the wrong impression but I thoguht I read somewhere that templars had some basic healing spells so I wasn't completely concerned with having a designated healer as I thought having 2 templars and morrigan set up with some spirit healing would be adequate. Am I wrong with my thoughts on templars?

No t sure about the Templar thing but I wouldn't want to hamstring Morrigan by making her take time to heal instead of wreak havoc I plan to invest a great deal in healing potions and the like and will use Wynn until I am able to hold my own with either potions, regenerations or whatever it takes.

I don't think a dedicated healer will be completely necessary, well maybe on the nightmare difficulty. Remember, there are other ways to keep people alive besides healing. If you mitigate enough damage through paralyzing, increasing armour, reducing attack, immobilising etc. you might be able to get away with having few healing spells. But of course it's hard to say without having played the game.
I intend to be the only mage in my party with mostly entropy spells and a only a few healing spells. One thing you will miss out on without a spirit healer is the revival spell. As far as I know, it's the only way to get unconcious characters back into the fight.

And yes I take threads asking about party balance to mean the OP is planning on playing on one of the harder difficulties. If you are playing on one of the easier ones..just pop in a movie and randomly press keys in the game until you make it to the next cutscene

Well, for me, two rogues are set. Me (Rogue Ranger, Ranged) and that debauchered city elf assassin, whatshisname. I'm probably going to go mainly for the things like Survival and Herbalism, while he can go for the Stealing and thievery.
As for the rest, I have no idea. Possibly Sten. And I'd like to squeeze a mage in there somewhere. Looking over the options, it's probably going to be Wynne.
And I intend to go the hardest difficulty from the start.
