Also I think she would find men pretty repulsive if she really slept with them purely for the sake of getting info. Ands lets not forget her possible rape in prison might also make her perfer women rather than a man who would try to take advantage of her.Posted Image

who said she was raped?  she says they did terrible things to her, and torture isn't always rape.  you make it sound like she is biased toward men when she is not, she is a people's person, she likes striking up conversations with people that she doesnt even necessarily like.  she holds Alistair and Zevran in high regard, and hardened Lel will even go along with Zev.

It's always a risk with female (and sometimes male) prisoners. Plus, Leliana's Song also strongly hints at this when we meet up with Leliana again and she's physically not really damaged after having been tortured not to mention some of the dialouge like when the guy who had been holding her captive taunts her by saying that if she wanted more of his men, she should have said so.

she doesn't blame men for being raped, i think she blames Marjolaine more for handing her over.  Pus Leliana was very understanding of Sila's situation.  i dont think Leliana being raped is why she prefers women, as she is very talkative to both genders.

It can sometimes, espiecally when Leliana has taken so much **** from men who take advantage of her just so she can complete a bard mission, and then being raped, you can see that some of her best sexual experinces haven't exactly been from men.

um, if anything Leliana was taking advantage of men, that's why her betrayel was so dramatic because she was being taken advantage of all along.

If we assume that the "Orlesian Noblewomen" were having sex with her before she was a bard she probably was expoused to that first hand before the men. She grew up around nobles and it wouldn't be suprising if a outgoing Noblewomen decided to take a young teenage girl to bed with her.Posted Image

Just my opinion on her experinces in Orlais that we discussed on the wiki forum once.

Why would you assume that? There's nothing that indicates that Lady Cecile was a lover.

Doesn't she say she learned her skills from bored noblewomen?  Not necessarily Cecile.

Cecile taught her to sing and dance.  Hold on, I'll find the dialogs.

Edit: I thought it was Marjolaine that taught her the bard stuff, Cecile who taught her the minstrel stuff.

second edit: "bored noble" has no hits.  I did find these though.

Leliana: She had served Cecilie--the Lady Cecilie--for many years and was loyal to her. Cecilie was a good person; she was always kind to me.
Leliana: Mother died when I was very young. Lady Cecilie let me stay with her. I had no one else.
Leliana: She was quite old then, and she had me study music and dance to entertain her. It is unfair, that I have more memories of Cecilie than my mother.
Warden: What was Cecilie like?
Leliana; She was an elderly lady, very refined and proper. She had impeccable manners and taste, more so than a lot of Orlesian ladies.
Leliana: Cecilie was also kind. My mother was unmarried and with child. It was scandalous, and Cecilie had every right to turn my mother out. She didn't.

Ok, looking for more.  But it certainly doesn't look like Leliana was molested by her or anything.

second edit: It was marjolaine who taught her the bardic arts:

Leliana: I was framed, betrayed by someone I thought I knew and could trust. Marjolaine--she was my mentor... and friend.
Leliana: She taught me the bardic arts--how to enchant with words and song, to carry myself like a high-born lady, to blend in as a servant...

Isabela: "She's quite feisty isn't she?"
Warden: "That's putting it mildly."
Isabela: "And you said she was a cloistered sister? I dare say the Chantry must be teaching things other than the Chant of Light."
Leliana: "Oh, no, no... I learned those things in Orlais. Bored noblewomen often come up with various methods of self-amusement."

I know the dialogs -- trust me. I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt that has anything to do with Lady Cecilie.  I think it has much more to do with after she was a bard.  There is just no indication ANYWHERE of what you are implying.

Edit: Ok, you know that leliana was a bard, and she had quite a sexual history.  She was in love with one woman, marjolaine.  She had sex with men and women both, as that was her job as a bard.  She certainly didn't hate the sex -- she very much enjoyed the life.  But that life was also behind her by the time you meet her.

Okay I DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT MARJOLAINE OR LADY CECLIE.Posted Image Cecilie is her foster mother and she would've been around other nobles. It wouldn't be suprising if those nobles she was exposed to engaged in sex with her even if she was under 18 (and in that time period it probably didn't matter.)

Now never put words in my mouth like that agian. Old lady ceilie and leliana..... Posted Image

Edit: Question ejoslin you were just joking right. Cuz its not really that funny if you were.

Actually, never mind.  I responded to something that got ninja-edited out of a post, got it turned around on me.  I think i'm better off staying out of this conversation.

It's actually pretty annoying!  Good night all.

I'm noticing a few new frequent forum posters that are either not too bright or flat out trolls. As I identify them I'm tending to ignore them.

Hmm . . . I always thought Lel was a little shy of guys given her history. It was implied in LS that she was abused by men during her capture. I could see how that experience might put her off from men altogether. Well, put yourself in her place . . .

Kind of like the suggestions that Alistair and Morrigan are secretly attracted to each other.

Dear Lord no!!

Seriously, I can't even bring myself to have Alistair sleep with Morrigan for the DR and I'm a huge DR fan.

My female Wardens always have hardened Alistair marry Anora and spare Loghain, just to avoid that situation.

Anyway, back on topic about our favorite Orlesian bard.

I agree that Leli likes both male and female Wardens. Though I feel she's more comfortable with romancing a feamle Warden, since relationships with women is a territory she's more familiar with. From what she said her prior "relationships" with men were all business (seducing a target to get info).

That brings up a question you think shes ever "willing" had sex with a man for purley pleasure.

It's not a problem for me. Just immersion breaking. I play my gender in RPGs so when she starts talking about eyelashes and butterflies and I'm thinking I'm a stoic badass It's a head scratcher. Hell, I scratch my head IRL when my wife calls me cute ya know. I gots no prob with GLBT folk, conflicts with my religion, but hey what you eat don't make me s**t. So yeah Leliana gets the vulnerable little sister treatment (especially from my rogue) in my playthrus.

While she was a bard back in Orlais? Unlikely, since she was in a relationship with Majorlaine at the time.

I thought as much. Of course she could've had sex with a man pre-bard, but thats unlikely since she only mentions gaining her "skills" from noblewomen.

Hey anyone noticed? In LS she says "This commander Raleigh sounds like a beast" when she opens up his personal journal. I guess she does find strong men attractive.
