I'm pretty sure you can bypass the region lock. Not sure how, though.

I cant, but I've spoken to people who've watched it. There's no 'new clue' despite what it says, mostly just Geoff Keighley talking up the announcement.



He says that the teaser video we saw was part of a longer trailer that will be shown at the event, and that the location we've seen is not where most of the game takes place.



Otherwise all he said is that it would hype people, bla bla bla, etc. Mostly just promotional stuff for the Spike VGAs.

"What ppl probably don't realize is that the footage they saw in the teaser is actually a little 3 second sneak preview of a much longer piece that's going to world premiere at the VGAs , and let me just say, it's not all set in that location that you see, uhh, you may see something else in there that's gonna get you pretty excited, but you gotta tune into VGAs to see what that shot is."

Bioware Russia accidentally leaked something about this trailer saying that it's Mass Effect 3.



I don't know how valid that is, but I have no trouble believing that what we saw in that trailer is a Reaper-ravaged Earth.



The video the OP put up is also an indication it might be ME3. That part where Geoff Keighley says that "it's not all set in that location you see" meaning that it's just one of the many planets you get to fight on in ME3.



As for who the protagonist is, it could be one of the ME3 squad members.

Or it could be Shepard. Remember that the Shepard seen on the front of the two titles so far actually look different

I replaying ME2 right now, yesterday I was doing missions on Tuchanka, and building structure of Krogans is similar to what was in the trailer (aka heavy metal formations with huge screws).

It's called an established portfolio. Using words like 'amazing' are subjective and mean little.

The odd thing i noticed is if you pause at the scene where the camera pans to the outside exterior of whatever the soldiers in you see a Metal picket fence, That dosen't seem like something we've seen in mass effect.



I think this is Earth

You can also Make out two Haman Shaped figure's across the bridge in the very last second of the shot, it looks like they're running towards the rifleman perhaps that is who he was aiming for

That tweet seemed more like a personal thought then a "leaked announcement".

Maybe its a game like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood in that its a 2.5 and not a "3", where you go back and play through the battle of Elysium and fend off batarian pirates but instead of playing Shepard you play as a soldier there with him fending off huge odds.



Could also be a multiplayer game then...



Just a thought of course.
