I'm really concerned about the PC version...

Plus we already know the combat will be significantly different on the PC version, allowing the tactical control we know and love. If they are willing to do that then they're obviously putting effort into making the PC port more specific to PCs.

My biggest fear is that this will be the problem with DA II too.
As I've noted previously, the control scheme for DA II is pretty much identical to Origins. It's a far cry from a "port" to PC, as the engine and UI was originally designed for the PC, and now benefits from optimizations and design that works well on both platforms.
There's a bit of difference between the two, for sure, such as hovering tool-tips, the quickbar, the ability to pull the camera back further and so on.
Essentially, though, if you played Origins, you know what you're in for in terms of controlling DA II. Except, of course, for the responsiveness and notable lack of combat shuffle. But then, lots of folks 'round here know my feelings about the shuffle.

Correct. In fact, if you look closely, you'll see that I have Additional Design credited on the original Mass Effect. Madness!

Actually, since DA2, we no longer shuffle people between projects. Mike said we had to get rid of the shuffle. Instead, we push a button and staff transfer awesomely.

That's why they never let you shuffle on poker night.

I prefered the non-edited version, still gave me a good laugh though!

Installing those human-capable, rock-and-roll-blasting, pneumatic tubes was absolutely worth it.

I believe the only poblem with DAO shuffle was, it just wasn't artistic enough...Mike Laidlaw wrote...

Thats not even funny as a joke. That warp bs across the screen just looks flat out stupid to begin with.

But..its Hot Rod Sumurai! Its part of the visceral bone crunching combat.... in zero G no less! I'm just waiting for flames and over wrought speed lines on the dash ability. Ugh.
ANYWAY, is there any news or anything on the possibility of DX11 for PC? Or how robust the graphics settings will be? I really just want to know if the textures on the PC will be held back by the consoles cause the disparity in the textures between the head and body in ME2 on PC were rather stark , while ME1 PC had nice high res textures throughout.

In seriousness though, I'd echo Brockololly's graphic question there. I haven't played many games that use DX11 yet but from those that I have, they haven't taken full-advantage of the technology.

honestly though, I still think ME2 graphics are way better. I dont know whats so different between the engines but ME just shines and sparkles more while DA seem kinda dull.

... wait, what? I'm going to call overt touchiness here-- they didn't even mention this, no need to bite their heads off.
Though I guess I missed that DA2 is using the exact same interface as Origins, so it's nice to know the GUI and menus won't have an overly console slated feel to the menus and stuff. I'm still interested to see how the camera is looking, but... I'm not alone in that, I bet.
And I absolutely agree with Tiax. The moment when you walk into the destroyed Normandy, with debris floating around and a view into space... I gasped. It looked gorgeous.

You should know by now that its Sarah's mission in life to be constantly negative.
But yea, I also am interested in seeing how the camera works. That is the aspect of the game that worries me the most since I can forsee a lot of annoying problems with a character lock camera system. Hopefully my worries will be unfounded

Of those, only DA2 and Drakensang 2 appeal to me at all.Maria Caliban wrote...
If only people were able to buy more than one RPG per year.
(Plans to get Dragon Age 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, WoW: Cataclysm, Witcher 2, Diablo III, and Drakensang 2 within next year.)
I don't like shooters, I really disliked WoW the one time I played it (I have enjoyed MMOs, but not WoW), the Witcher drove me away inside half an hour, and the Diablo series has perhaps the worst gameplay of any game I've seen this side of Big Rigs Over the Road Racing.

Ah, someone from the Jason Kidd school of geometry. As kid put it: "He will turn the team around 360 degrees."
