Actually, since DA2, we no longer shuffle people between projects. Mike said we had to get rid of the shuffle. Instead, we push a button and staff transfer awesomely:D

Thats not even funny as a joke. That warp bs across the screen just looks flat out stupid to begin with.

 Seriously, are you okay Sarah? You seem a bit upset. They're just joking around.

I'm fine I just hate the new hot rod samurai make over being cited as this great awesome thing, when aspects of it look ****ing stupid.

Preference is as preference does.

Can't say I really have one myself. The animations are more overstated, but I find how I end up feeling about that sort of thing relates to how it works over long periods of exposure, so I can't really say. The colours are a bit brighter, but that means "too bright" or "less brown" depending on how you see things, and the blight look a little less urak hai and a little more harryhausen, which I consider a good tihng.

Wow. Harryhausen...I hadn't thought of that. Your right, it kinda does resemble his work.

I don't like it either. I'd prefer the more realistic looks of ME2.

Can anyone explain what they mean by horrible? Do you mean you just don't like it? Or do you precieve something especially wrong?

My problem with it is that to me it looks like a blocky anime cartoon.

@ziggehunderslash

I have very little faith in DA2...in it being anywhere near as successful as it's predecessor...

Okay, you've made the statement now tell us WHY you feel this way. We're not able to discuss your concerns if we don't know why you have them.

I like this approach. Most of the time when someone says that Fanboys swoop in and tear them apart.

I can see that. I gave a little chuckle when I first saw that screenshot with the speed lines.

But I think a lot of that perception comes from the marketing. I know it gets blamed for a lot of things, but their intention is clearly to make it look as fast paced and exciting as they possibly can and so it definitely skews the image it's giving us. A lot of what we've been shown is carefully framed to be dynamic. Low angles and close ups, which aren't an accurate portrayal of the actual gameplay.

That's not to say some of the spells and abilities don't look a bit street fighter, but as I say, I think prolonged exposure is the only real indicator I value when it comes to character animations.

It clearly has Japanese gaming influence. Not a bad thing imo.

In all fairness, this forum doesn't have a lot of fanboys. Or if it does, they're not usually the ones refuting negative responses. It has a healthy number of pedants, and a lot of what they (ok, we) respond to is assumption based opinion, which is generally the case made.

The way it looks is not a new art style, I KNOW ART STYLES, DA2's isn't much different from DA:O it's just pure horrible graphics that make me want to.......and no I'm not a DA:O "fanboy" I don't mind being forced to play Hawke, I don't mind having the using dialogue wheel but one thing I cannot stand is Bad graphics when there's no good cause for it...hell SWTOR looks better and we all know how massive that game is...DA2 is just ...<_<

I dunno, those who often get labeled fanboy often have their own issues with the game. The more aggressive ones, sometimes myself included, tend to get riled up by language and implied tone - not the opinions we disagree with themselves.

I really wish I could show you all the images from Gamepro #268, as they're are (what I think) some darkspawn that are more inline with the DA:O interpretation. I think reading that, admittedly brief, article would allay some fears. I think.
