Who would win in a fight if the Morrigan/ Leliana fight got physical

My money is on Morrigan, Leliana was lucky Morrigan didn't set her hair on fire (That would of been funny) or turned her into a toad, but then again Leliana is resourseful.

Depends on Leliana's stealth level. If she's a melee rogue with 4 points in stealth, she'd win. Well, at least that's how Zevran wipes out mages in my games.

In a straight-up duel? Morrigan. Let's say they're at level 10 and Morri's got Mind Blast, Horror and Cone of Cold. That's stun-lock slam-dunk.

I have no idea, but that's a mental image I'll treasure on these cold December nights.

Morrigan can easily take out Leliana with a stun lock

Morrigan. She'd just set Leliana on fire or turn her into a toad or something.

I echo ejoslin. If Lel has enough stealth, she'd stun and kill Morrigan before the witch could even react.

If Lel didn't have stealth, Arrow of Slaying has a good range. She could still win provided she made the shot before Morrigan could cast paralyse/freeze/whatever.

I agree she could win if she gets the jump on her.  It would require some luck, though.  Dirty Fighting followed by Arrow of Slaying could do it.  Still, it would depend on who gets the first stun in.

Also, by the time Leliana would have high stealth and Arrow of Slaying, Morrigan could have blood magic, fireball etc.  Fireball is very fast.

If we're talking a straight up fight my money would be on Morrigan (magic beats arrow/sword). If the rules were no magic and no weapons I'd have to go with Leliana. While I'm sure Morrigan could scrap Leliana's more likely to have training/experience fighting. Outside an organized fight though I'd say whoever instigates wins. Either of them have crippling first shots that make the rest a slaughter rather than a fight.

Morrigan, totally. Even without magic. I mean, she's a shapershifter. I'd imagine that during her time spent as an animal, she probably learned a thing or two about fighting. And she is way more ruthless, too.

Well, Lel doesn't have to be archer spec either. :) A dual strike Lel with stealth, dirty fighting, riposte and punisher (or whatever all the stun skills are) would own Morrigan without breaking a sweat.

HOWEVER, if Morrigan had the right spells, was lucky and careful, she could toss out fireballs in the right area to break Lel's stealth, or a Cone of Cold or Mind Blast before Lel got the first (melee) strike in. I don't know if AoE spells like Sleep and Mass Paralysis break stealth, but they could work if Leliana was in the designated area.

All in all, it might depend on how smart and lucky the two characters (or people controlling the characters) are.

It does beg the question of whether Zevran's eyes are simply closed, or Morrigan made good on her offer to stab him in the face rather than let him touch her. Y'never know!

Stealth doesn't help much in a duel.  Mind Blast would stun even when stealthed, and then a mage would know where the opponent is and can just hammer away.  Morrigan can also shapeshift if she gets in trouble and gain a lot of physical resistance.  I'm kind of sticking with starting skills or just a few levels up from starting.  Morrigan has excellent stun-lock capability almost straight out of the gate.

Not saying Leliana couldn't win, but she would need some luck and would absolutely have to get the first stun.  Dirty Fighting requires some proximity, so that would also factor in.

My money would be on the CC/ attack mage.  Should be an easy fight.

I love the one where Sten decides to play around with her and accepts, asking things like how strong her teeth are, because she will need something to bite down on.

If we're using game mechanics, Stealth helps plenty in a duels. That's how my rogue creamed Loghain. And just about every mage.

Leliana would just have to pick her moment. If Morrigan fires off a Mind Blast and Leliana was deliberately holding back out of range, there's a window to strike before it recharges. Shapeshifting can be interrupted--it has a long cast time, and if we're going for starter skills then she won't be able to pull it off before Lel puts an arrow in her and disrupts.

I was thinking maxed out characters, and a more generic 'rogue vs mage: who would win?' scenario. I still think a smart rogue would beat a smart mage more often than not.
