I think ME3 will play out similar to DA:O. So when my colonist Shepard has to go to the Batarians to get them to honor their treaties. I am siding with the werewolves. Werewolves are better than Batarians anyday .

Definately think we deserve a batarian squadmate for Mass Effect 3. For one, they are the only known race that is capable of being a realistic partymember that havent been used yet (sorry hanar, volus or elcor fans, that just aint gonna happen). Secondly they need to fleshen out the batarians hugely over the one dimensional villain slaver, human haters they appear now, a squadmate would do just this.
Thirdly, when the reapers attack, you think batarians are going to be ignored or something? they have to realise even over all prejudices that they will get killed off unless they ally themselves, and at least one sensible needs to stand with Shepard against the menace, finally.

(I find it amusing, it makes me laugh and also think about Batarian models posing for Fornax -- we know there are some.)

Also, I just wanted to thank everyone who supports the idea of a batarian squaddie; and especially those forumites who don't like the race (or roleplay someone who hates Batarians) and yet are able to see and discuss the storytelling/character development possibilities that can come along with having such a crewmember on board.

Once again -- I can't speak for anyone else, so I'd speak for myself here -- I support the recruiting being optional.

Meh. I always hated Batarians. First a Batarian squadmate is added, I'll ditch him first chance I get.
