Meh, I don't know if anyone with a helping hand goes through these forums anymore, but I need to ask as it's really annoying. In NWN2 you know the soundsets, right? Let's say for example that my character has the brooding dark hero soundset, and he goes to attack an enemy.
There is a possibility that the character says stuff like "At my direction, attack!". But in my game, it cuts off in the middle. I mean the moment my character enter melee/starts attacking the enemy, the whole line cuts off. So it's more like "At my direc-" over and over again.
Thing is, I've edited myself my own soundset, and I'm now very much noticing this. Companions have nothing cut off, but player does. It's like the enemies' damn "wounded" and "attacking" noises would overwrite them. I have those turned off from my main character. To further show my example; my character goes all "Mwhahah nowhere t-" and then he goes there standing and soon swinging his axe.
Just to know...As this is so god damn annoying there is no end to it. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a way to make the soundsets to not be interrupted by anything? That they just play like they should?
Thanks...
NWN2 soundset voices cutting off in the middle

Sounds like you have a soundcard or sound chip conflict to me. Though, as you say, it seems to only be the main character. Have you tried using other characters or just switching voice sets?
Additionally, I note that you say you edited the sound set on your own. And did you notice this issue before or after making these edits? Have you downloaded someone's modification for voices at all?
Everything you say indicates that you have some sort of conflict going on with the main character or there is an override/hak file interrupting somehow. First things first. Remove any modifications from your Override folders or Hak files if they have anything to do with modified sound sets. Another good idea would be to restore the original sound files (I do trust you kept a backup of the original sound files before you started editing them?) and verify it's not something that's been modified in the game that's the root cause.
After that, we should look deeper.
Yes, we still hang out and help people (although still is a funny word there, since these forums only opened up on the BSN in July -- that's not that long for a 4+ year old game. -- just as an aside, though if you were familiar with the old NWN2 forums, I suppose that would make sense.)
Additionally, I suppose it could be some modification for NPC Monster AI, though I think the defacto standard would be TonyK's AI and I've never heard of any issues there regarding soundsets.
Check those things out and get back. We'll see if we can get you sorted.

Ah, sorry for not noticing earlier. Had some visitors IRL and other stuff.
And yes, I do believe I have edited original sound files. Music files to be exact and I do have the old ones. But even when an original soundtrack is playing, I still get them cut off. And noticing it before? I don't know really. The other soundsets seem to have a bit shorter lines compared to mine and are less flashy so I didn't really pay all that much attention. But I think it might be a new thing.
The soundset I edited was by a modder, I just replaced the soundfiles with my own. I can imagine it might have something to do with not having "the text above the character saying what is said" but editing the .tkk ssfk files were a bit too complicated for my tastes.
Companions don't seem to have the same problem as I hear them completing their lines while I'm fighting atleast. I guess I'm not really expecting this to get fixed but I thought it would be worth the shot to see if anyone else noticed it. I will however try to look deeper into it.
