Why are female companions always human (not talking about romances)

BW seems more diverse with Males, Zevran, now this mystery elf and Varric. Is it just a coincidence or does BW feel humans fit their female characters.

As for racial preferences of the writers, I once remember Gaider saying something along the lines of the fact that racial diversity is the last thing on their mind when they're coming up with what companions should be added to a story. Chances are that up until now they simply didn't feel that any of the non-human female concepts that they came up with meddled enough with their intended stories, Awakening and Witch Hunt not withstanding, and choose to preclude them.

Poor Sigrun and Velenna are feeling pretty neglected, or spiteful in Velanna's case, right about now I'd imagine, seeing as so many people are quick to forget about their existence.
that's my point why I didn't mention them. they are not as memorable as the human companions.

Truly? I found both of them to be quite memorable, though Velanna's attitude problem often left a bitter taste in my mouth whenever it reared it's ugly head. Sigrun especially was my favorite companion from Awakening for her bubbly personality and epic stats that were so unbecoming for a traditional rogue.Johnny Chaos wrote...

So your thread title has nothing to do with your actual point..

IMO, we need non human female romances as well.
Well, in BG2 & NWN, all female romance options were elven or halfelven

Yes but this isn't BG2 or NWN we're talking about, and takes place in a different fictional universe.
With that said: I want a female elf romance!!!1eleven1!1 QQ

Huh. That's a good point. I have no idea, dude, but a little more variety in the party would be nice.
ME has allot of humans too. Miranada, Kaiden/Ashley, Jacob, Zaeed, Jack and Kasumi. But at least they add in a decent number of Aliens. Just never more than one of one species.
But yes more variety in companion race would be interesting. And I don't see the point in making majority of the companions human. If I want to hang out with humans I do it in real life. I'm not saying no human companions just not the majority of them.

But I admit I'm probably in the minority here. I'll also admit there's little consistency in my preference as I don't mind aliens in science fiction. It's probably purely aesthetics driving my opinion.
