forrealz? Leliana, Morrigan, Wynne, Bethany, Aveline, and Isabela are all humans.  I liked the Witch Hunt DLC just for the fact we got a enjoyable female dalish elf in our group, i actually cared less about Morrigan.

BW seems more diverse with Males, Zevran, now this mystery elf and Varric.  Is it just a coincidence or does BW feel humans fit their female characters.

I object to the word "always".

We haven't "always" done anything. This is a reference to one game, DAO, and ignoring Awakening-- and also ignoring the fact that we haven't even announced all the characters in DA2 yet.

As for why many of the female companions are human? It's because most of the companions are human, period. Because most of the population of Thedas is human, and while I like the occasional exception as much as the next person I'm not about to have the party stocked with them. In many ways the player's party is a reflection of the world around them, and that's the way it's going to be. Trying to drum it up as some kind of larger conspiracy just because someone hasn't yet gotten their redux of the female elven romance is a bit overdramatic.

But a female elf companion could be so cool. :(

A female elf companion could be cool, but like AngryPants says there's nothing inherently cool about a companion's race. If that was where we started a companion's concept (ie. "We need a female elf companion...") and had nothing else to drive the concept beyond that, it'd likely be very lame indeed... and, in fact, that's been my experience for such concepts in the past when we've done just that.

Does that mean we'll never think of a concept that doesn't include a female elf? No, of course not. But as far as I'm concerned if the most unique thing someone can ask for regarding a potential companion is that they be a "female elf" or "female qunari" they're not asking for much more than a pair of boobs attached to a model they think is attractive. Not that inspiring, sorry.

I always wondered....are the important characters we see in game all born trough your hand and then passed on to co writers and design team...or does sometimes the design team (or Mike Laidlaw) gives you a character you shall breath life into. Or that somebody at top of  you in the Bioware "chain of command" is saying: "We need that kind of character, make it happen!" ?

Yes.

Bet he just answers "Yes" again :)

Either he's been comparing notes with Evil Chris or Bioware's staffed by Vorlons.
