Bet he just answers "Yes" again :)

Either he's been comparing notes with Evil Chris or Bioware's staffed by Vorlons.

Violent drunk is a pretty standard dwarf stereotype.

in my eyes aveline's giving off the image/vibe of a mentor rather than a romantic interest

someone who had the burden of being a leader/commander instead of someone who has talent for leadership but hasn't tested those waters yet

You have always been here.

Edit: Actually, I'd fall out of my chair laughing if someone from Bioware responded to a thread with, "The avalanche has already started, it is too late for the pebbles to vote."

Edit 2: I think this Vorlon/Bioware analogy has legs.  "I really hate it when you do that" - "Good."

You mean that the cultures in DA are reasonably heterogenous, not homogenous.  (Hetero prefex = different, ****** prefex = same, think heterosexual = like different sex, while homosexual = like same sex).

No no, I mean, they have more similarities than is probably appropriate for a living, breathing culture, but that it's handled well due to them being fairly small cutlures forced into a certain mindset by circumstance which makes more sense than race.

But as you say, they present a good number alternative perspectives within that.

Well being lead writer probably means both. I would say like with Lucas Arts. The writers mostly have free hand but for example with important things they have to talk to the big boss first. I mean writers if you leave them alone and don't interfere too much, can do great things but you can't really trust them.

I did like how Ariane and the female elf cocky PC voice were the same VA, but it made it awkward when both elves, my female Dalish Warden Commander and Araine, both sounded the same.

I think he was referring specifically to DA. KotOR only had one human female, and two alien females. And not the DLC, either.

For both main games, we only know about human females. The only non-humans are both male.

There's nothing wrong with asking this question when you consider the fact that three out of three female companions were human in Origins whereas only one of five male companions was human at a time. Add to that what info has been leaked about DA2 so far, and there you have it. A perfectly valid question which was thankfully answered, however along with a measure of scolding.

On the other hand, yeah, there's the expansion pack and DLC. Best be careful posting around these parts.

IA, I'd love more female non-humans. Sigrun was one of my favourite companions, and Shale was also a great addition. I didn't hate Velanna either (as a character anyway).

I always wondered....are the important characters we see in game all born trough your hand and then passed on to co writers and design team...or does sometimes the design team (or Mike Laidlaw) gives you a character you shall breath life into. Or that somebody at top of  you in the Bioware "chain of command" is saying: "We need that kind of character, make it happen!" ?

Yes.

Thats Pulitzer Prize worthy writing right there.
:P

Companions are companions to me, doesn't really matter about race and gender too much.  Just as long as their  existence makes sense.  Of course, variety is always nice, if at least it gives you more lore/insight into the world.

I dont care about our female companion's looks.

All i want is that they be interesting, kind, intelligent, funny, and perhaps have a great smile

Personally, I'm waiting for the day BioWare gives us a female dwarf companion in one of their games. Or for that matter, a dwarf of either gender who's a teetotaller.

And Shale doesn't count, by the way. She hasn't been a dwarf--or technically, a female--for a very, very long time.
