Hello.
I've started as elven mage, now im in Ostagar. At the very beginning i was asked to join Alistair, when i came to him he didnt join me after conversation with, then after i got mission in wild lands Duncan told that Alistair would acompany me and after conversation nothing happened - i got party of 3 (me, ranger and warrior). After exiting to wild lands at the place where i found injured warrior i found that Alistair is presented as smth invisible that only speaks... Tried to load gamr from begining of Ostagar but everything repeted. As my english isnt so good ill post the link to video so everyone can understand what my problem is - http://www.xfire.com/video/188fe3/ - so what can be done with it?
Thx for the answers.

try these step #4 worked for me hope it helps
1.Load the game's toolset. Navigate to Tool --> Export and click on Empty Export Directories.
2.Close the toolset. In Windows XP, navigate to My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules and delete anything labeled "single player." In Windows Vista, navigate to Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules and do the same.
3.Find and delete anything in the following folder:
Windows XP: My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules\\single player\\override
Windows Vista: Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules\\single player\\override
4.Find and delete anything in the following folder:
Windows XP: My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override
Windows Vista: Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override

Just format your harddrive and reinstall everything... thats what the hardcore "Bioware can do no wrong" fanboys will tell you.

so, basically you're saying that a mod is doing it? There's gotta be a ton of people out there with mods installed and DON'T have Alistair invisible... Any clue on the offending mod?

Same problem here. He disappears after the landsmeet.

All of my characters were fine first time through, but after reloading from save point and getting a different ending, Sten only has visible feet, hands, weapon, and eyes. Many NPCs are now suddenly floating heads as well. I play on Xbox so updates or changes will have to come from bioware

I have the same issue. In my case, he disappeared after the landsmeet. If it is a mod causing it, then just clearing your override folder won't necessarily help, as you won't be able to load that game anymore. Clearing your mods, essentially means a restart. Annoying if you are at Ostagar... really sucky if you are at the landsmeet.

Whoa I thought I was the only one with this problem!!! I just got of the EA chat (I got the unhelpful person the first goround). About this. I just installed Awakenings and the 1.03 patch and thought the problem was with that, but it wasn't. Alistair disappeared AFTER the Landsmeet, because I loaded a game BEFORE the landsmeet and he was there for the whole thing, and I played on until after defeating the darkspawn at Redcliffe, and POOF! Gone! Now, since Alistair disappeared AFTER the landsmeet, has anyone had any problems loading the approach to Denerim? I can't go anywhere or do anything when I get to Denerim. If I talk to Eamon or Riordan the game goes all kind of kaflooey and doesn't work right anymore.

I think I've identified my problem with Alistair not showing up. Originally when I went into the Landsmeet I had the EDS (Extra Dog Slot) installed and it replaced the dog with Alistair when I fought Loghain. It was after that that Alistair disappeared. I uninstalled, well basically everything, including the game, reinstalled it, and didn't even install the extra dog slot. Now I think I've got the invisible Alistair problem licked, at least for me. We'll see when I get to Redcliffe...

I've got the same problem as Darth Mikkon. Alistair disappeared after the Landsmeet, his voice is there in the scenes, and the game is glitched in the approach to Denerim for the final battle. I went back, disabled the EDS, forced loaded to a save before the Landsmeet, played through, same end result--invisible Alistair and game glitched/hands before final battle.

I had the same problem after the landsmeet.
I Have also the extra dog slot installed.
What worked for me was.
-Load a save before the landsmeet.
-change your party that dog will be your fourth companion.
-If dog is shown as fourth and fifth go to another area and return.
-If your suddenly in the landsmeet chamber after you return you don't have to worry.
-save your game and disable the extra dog slot in your downloadable content.
-load your game and open the doors of the landsmeet chamber
-this will trigger the cutscene.
This worked for me.

I had the same problem. What worked for me was to load the save before the landsmeet (right before you open the door and start the event). Before opening the door, use the dog whistle that is part of the extra dog slot addon. This should remove the dog from your party, and allow the dialogue to run correctly afterwards.
The bug seems to happen when you have the 5th party slot filled, you'll notice that while fighting Loghain, Allistair is trying to fight him as well, although he doesn't move or attack, I could see his tactics trying to apply. That seems to be what caused the bug.
To simplify, make sure you don't have the dog in your party by using the dog whistle. Fixed.
