I actually like how he thanks the warden for forcing him to fight and overcome his cowardness.
And not before presenting you another opportunity to make fun of him, too. Truely, the man's a giver.

So killing the merchant in Lothering for no reason whatsoever isn't evil?Zjarcal wrote...

As with everything in the game, it all depends on your motivation.
According to Qun it isn't. Ask the Sten what he thinks about the unscrupulous merchant next time you pass thru Lothering. The Qun is hardly evil. The Water God wrote...

Well, sure it would have been evil had it been done 'for no reason whatsoever' but then just about any violent act, done for no reason whatsoever, would be considered evil. The Water God wrote...

Its no more evil then dwarven tradition, or the Chantry.Wulfram wrote...

Sucks if you are a mage, but then again being a mage is bad for you just about anywhere outside of Tevinter.
But then Tevinter is ruled by slavers and blood mages.
She was clearly either being raped or tortured by a laughing Vaughan when Soris showed up and anyone who would abduct someone to do that to on their wedding day and leave the would-be rescuer to rot isn't the best Arl of a city with an Alienage in my book.
I didn't say that elves couldn't be just as bad and I'd be uncomfortable putting such an obviously anti-human elf in charge of the fate of humans as well. I feel that Soris' bride being abducted on her wedding day and screaming while Vaughan was laughing implied rape and/or torture. What else do you think it could have implied? There might be other things but on my second playthrough (before I had played CE) I asked Soris about it, that was the conclusoin I came to.Costin_Razvan wrote...

Uhm, ok if you say so. I don't see how I can make the connection from that dialogue line to be equal to Vaughn raping someone.
Then again, my PoV was drawn after I had just recently dealt with the Dalish ( and to say that I was pissed at Zathrian did was putting mildly ), and I never asked Sorris on my first playthrough about why he was there. Just figured he was another of Howe's victims. "Shrug"
In my experience, elves can and are just as bad as humans are in their oppression.

The only thing I cant see any reasoning for is during the Arcane Warrior quest.
You can toss the crystal aside and go NAh and leave a person to an eternity of going mad over and over again. I can see justification for keeping the crystal, but to just toss it aside?

If you think it is dangerous than you could just say lob it at the altar.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Maybe you can think that putting that orb on the altar is dangerous?
.....Yea that one, I can't think of too many reasons, and believe me I tried.

No kidding. What I was saying was that if you say "poisoning the ashes for no reason" "annulling the Circle of Magi for no reason" "sacrificing Isolde in a bloog magic ritual" , ect. then obviously it would be bad.The Water God wrote...

You didn't say "killing the merchant in Lothering" was evil. You said that "killing the merchant in Lothering for no reason was evil." Maybe if you killed him you had no reason but you can't just assume that every other person who killed him did so for no reason.
