When Lowtown was revealed, I said it reminded me of Old Tarantia's Commons district in Age of Conan. What does this remind me of ? Old Tarantia's Noble district! Good thing I liked good ol' "OT."

I keep asking who does these concept renderings in vain. They are amazing.
But I'm wondering when we'll see an area away from Kirkwall.

That was an ominous ending sentence. Is that foreshadowing or are they just yanking our tails?

...With a town like HighTown above a town called LowTown...I get this strange urge to create a rap song.
Weird.
Weird.

Neat, so am I going to be right in assuming those steps are the ones seen in the Rise to Power trailer about halfway through where there is some people kneeling down before him and another guy at top.
The Gateway behind that guy in that scene gives me the impression of what I would imagine the entrance to Hightown would be from the stairs. Narrow and easy to defend.
Now all we need is a Hightown female follower so we can do our own rendition of 'Uptown Girl'
Hightown Girl! She's been living in a Hightown world, I bet she's never met a Lowtown guy, I bet her momma never told her why, I'm gonna try... for a Hightown Girl, she's been living in a white bread world, as long as anyone with hot blood can, and now she's looking for a Lowtown Man, that's what I am!
Ok that is so making me want to make an Ulrich Hawke now... maybe he'll find Lady Jocelyn

Well it got me thinking, if enemy has Lowtown, apart from the obvious tactic of 'starving' Hightown out, if the enemy in Lowtown also has Dragons on their side, Walls won't mean squat diddlySaslic wrote...

Flame grilled if we stay in Hightown, skewered if we try going down the stairs.
That sentence also reminded me of the Destiny trailer and what Flemeth says in it. As the write up for Hightown states, the people there all obviously have their feeling of being safe in their alleged 'impregnable' Hightown, imagine how they'll be if they aren't safe. Cowering in fear, letting destiny swallow them whole. Up steps Hawke to repel the invaders. Job done, gets crowned Champion but of course it wasn't supposed to be like that, Kirkwall was supposed to fall, thus putting us on verge of world war.
Then of course there is the opposite slant to it, Hawke and Lowtown people annoyed with the Hightown hierarchy, joins the side of the invaders, goes in, kicks up a storm in less time than the parrelel verse would have done it. Job done, gets crowned Champion by the invaders, but coz we're in parrelel verse, Kirkwall wasn't supposed to fall to the invaders, thus putting us on verge of world war.
That's what I heard on the road anyways, take it for what it is,,,

Yeah, that sounds absolutely nothing like the Hightown I live near.

So is Kirkwall like the only place u can visit? Seems like DA2 is a bit limited in environments

Hightown, lowtown, darktown. What's next, towertown? Dungeontown? Higher-than-hightown?
Hopefully there'll be more district names that are non-height related.
In Kirkwall if there's a Tiberius square, or James castle or something I'll pretty much cry.

I think they already called it in DA:O with the desciption of Minrathous in Tevinter. The capitol has a similar setup and I think the codex describes the vast towers being there for the rich to escape the under-classes and the smells that generate there from industry and filth.
Seems to me that most large Tevinter settlements would follow the makeup of their Capitol. Although Kirkwall is no longer ruled by the Imperium, the city is naturally shaped to disect class and thats incredably hard to escape from.
