I missed my opportunity to acquire the Felon's Coat  because I purchased Wade’s Superior Drakeskin before learning that the Felon’s Coat could only be purchased from his shop. As you may know, as soon as Wade makes the Superior Drakeskin for you, you can no longer purchase items from him. In that light what are some suitable alternatives to the Felon’s Coat?
My character is a dagger/dagger cunning rogue. Note, I am not willing to use the console to add the Felon’s Coat to my character’s inventory. That is, I would only consider options available to me in-game.

I had considered Shadow of the Empire, but I am not sure if it is worth the purchase considering I would lose the item set bonus from Wade’s Superior Drakeskin.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

That's the problem with rogues / light armor. Not too many options available.

If you have Leliana's song DLC, you can acquire the Battledress of the Provocateur. It looks like the felon's coat except lighter in color I believe.
That's the best alternative. The other one is Shadow of the empire, which is not that great and I don't like how it looks personally.

If you have Awakening, there is Bear's Embrace and Blackblade Tunic.

I am not sure there are any other good light armor chest pieces other than those.

I would actually suggest that you do get Shadow of the Empire and combine with the Cadash Stompers or Bard's Dancing Shoes, as well as the Red Jenny Seekers.

The Superior Drakeskin set is nice for the fatigue reduction, but I personally don't find it that good.

Your best bet for a rogue in Origins as of right now is to pump your strength a bit and go with Wade's Superior Dragonskin. If you end up importing to DAA KoP has the right of it.

KoP?

Do we have to use all these acronyms like we're in the military or something?

KoP stands for KnightofPhoenix, which is me. Nothing to do with the game :P

I appreciate the advice. Looks like I have some additional research on my hands.

I don't have Awakening yet. I am still working my way through the main campaign in DA:O proper. I'll consider Leliana's Song. Might as well buy the Ultimate Edition while I'm at it right?

How about Red Jenny's Seekers and Silverhammer Tackmasters with Shadow of the Empire?

Do Leliana's Song and get the Battledress of the Provocateur. Red Jenny Seekers and the Bard's Dancing shoes. Or maybe Cadesh stompers. Shadow isn't that wonderful.

@KoP, thanks.

Don't forget about Vest of the Nimble. Nice bonus to dexterity and cunning.

Don't worry too much about rogue gear, other than having a good set of daggers. A rogue could be fighting naked and still be killing everything on the battlefield. It's the tanks who have to worry about armor.

Btw, if you wanted 20 strength just for the armor requirement, you should have plenty after the fade bonuses and wearing accessories that boost strength.  If you play Awakening, the first Legionnarre Scout talent gives a passive +10 boost to strength and constitution.  My rogue has a base 14 strength and has been able to wear everything, armor related.

Seriously, DL all of the expansions or just get the Ultimate Edition. Although they are not quite as polished and masterful as the main Origins campaign, they are decent and the in-game rewards you can get from them are well worth it. The festival stuff is lame, although some items are good for a laugh and others are, I guess, ok if you somehow messed up on a companion's favour and want a quick fix.

Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade here, but isn't there a bug when importing Wade's Superior and the Battledress from Leliana's Song when you import into DAA? Especially when you enter the Silverrite Mine. You have to undress or but on an armor set that won't trigger the bug.

I've heard that Falcon's Coat doesn't trigger the bug.

Uncertain, but as several items can trigger that bug, I undress the PC anyway; tis only for a couple of minutes.

This may be unrelated to the bug you guys are talking about, but as long as I have Velania (sp?) with me when I enter the mine, the bug doesn't seem to trigger no matter what i'm wearing. Doing this, I've never had to undress my PC.

Battledress of the Provocateur is such a good armor that I have stopped using it sometimes. It spoils my early game. It's a great choice not only for rogues but even to consider for mages and early game warriors. Certainly worth downloading Leliana's Song.

If you say that too loud they might gimp the stats like they did for the Blood Dragon armor!

I'm using Blood Dragon on Alistair. I downloaded Leliana's Song as well.

I'm finishing up Anvil of the Void on hard and, I have to admit, I'm not having much difficulty with it because I believe I made some very good choices WRT leveling and gear for my entire party. All of the information was found in this forum. You're assistance has been brilliant. I thank you.

Don't you have to take Velana with you into the mine because this is part of her quest or I thought it was.

As per the bug, I never had the bug until patch 1.03 came out.  If I'm using Battledress or Wade's it will trigger everytime.  Also I've noticed if you use Key To the City and LifeGiver Ring it will trigger also.
