My best soldier died ! I'm playing as an adept and my team was always Ashley and Garrus. Then I come here in the forums and read that Kaiden is going to die. So on mirtire planet, I choose to let Ashley guard the bomb and go with Kaiden to fight (to see him die). Oh my god !!!!! Ashley was so maxed out, she was perfect. With her in the team and Garrus and myself it was perfect. We could litteraly clear a room and five seconds. She had the best weapons, armor, ammo and mods. I tell you , with that shootgun she was deadly.
Now I will have to rely on Wrex, but there will be duplication of powers.
Had to vent...
BTW I am just to my first playthrought of ME1 and I'm addicted. I need some sleep. My work is even suffering.

The person you run to rescue is the person that lives. You want Kaidan to die, go save Ashley. Easy enough.

I prefer Kaiden and Liara's biotics. My level 40 adept clears the room by herself on normal. I did feel awful when Ashley died though. At least she died a hero and brought back honor to the Williams name.

I could never let Ash die in any of my saves. Sure she has some trust issues with other races and is staunchly and fanatically loyal to the Alliance, but Kaiden always seemed...awkward to me, I don't know how to explain it.

Wait the second game too, if now you're just addicted ME2 will definately make you sick 'till the last chapter will come out. Me too I'm passing trought this

Wrex and Garrus are the best squaddies! I say let Kaidan live, I prefer him to Ashley. More useful.

I used to play as an Infiltrator and my squad was exactly Ashley and Wrex. The idea was that I'd charge in a room and disable/dampen stuff, then let Ash and Wrex go crazy while I run around with my Marksmanship Spectre handgun.
I found Wrex to be a little more durable than Ashley. It's noticeable on Impossible where sometimes you have to micromanage or heal Ash while Wrex is just running around happily doing his own thing without a care.
The key is that both Ash and Wrex have Immunity. You can't go far wrong if everyone in your squad has Immunity.
