The companions are always single when they meet the hero, it leaves me to believe BW characters remain single for the hopes of bedding the hero. lol

Oghren could technically be considered exempt from this, as he was still considered Branka's husband if only in name when you first meet him. (Oh and Ser Jory was also married, but given his status as a temporary companion I doubt most would count him.)

With that said however, you are actually right about the vast majority of them being single when you first meet them - even if they had previous relationships in the past. Weird. I guess it helps free your companions up so that they have no pressing reasons to leave your party.

I prefer to make very ugly heroes, except not but I'll pretend that I do anyway just to show em. The lords of the other lands. My ugly heroes were built on a swamp.

Most of the time, yeah, they're single when you meet them. I can't recall a single BioWare companion that was in and stayed in a happy relationship not with the player.

Minsc and Dynaheir were also very closely linked in that Dynaheir was Minsc's Witch and Minsc was her protector and bodyguard.

I also contend that the Minsc/Dynaheir, Jaheira/Khalid and the other couples in the Baldur's Gate franchise are perfectly valid as I am certain that any writing out of characters was due to tax reasons which we cannot take seriously at this present juncture
