It's best if you just shave it bald until March and install table padding. Otherwise, you're going to end up in serious pain.

Ok, now i'm a big bioware fan from baldur's gate 1 like many people here but from seeing gameplay videos () this just looks like a hack n slash game? Now, i don't doubt the story will be good but the combat just looks like button mashing badness :/.
1. That's a demo of console play, not PC play.
2. Dragon Age 2 has a framed narrative. The first part is an exaggerated story being told about you. Regular combat is much harder.
3. There is still auto-attack, pause, a large selection of spells and abilities, nd a zoom out camera (though no overhead view). The PC version plays much like Origins, only the combat is more responsive.

That does depend on where he is pulling the hair from.

Unless, of course, he meant some other famous game series with the initials "FF." The only other one I can think of is Final Fight.

DMC is a hack and slash game. Final fantasy is a game where you run around with giant swords swinging with ease and take hits from swords in skirts (companions being dressed in normal clothes fighting a dragon)
Isabela much? Is she part of some foreign exchange character program?

Wow, that is your synopsis of the whole Final Fantasy series? The dedication and thought that went into this was legendary.

Why is everyone saying the PC will be better? I'm a console player myself, & I'm down right terrified that DA2 will adopt JRPG elements.
Hack and slash gameplay is not an JRPG element. Diablo was the first 'hack and slash' RPG. If you're taking about characters wearing one outfit... there's already a thread about that, yes?
That said, the PC version will be better because they spent five years developing the engine exclusively for the PC and one year porting it to consoles for DA:O. Now they've had one extra year, but they've spent a great deal of time on the graphics (PC owners will benefit more from that) and responsiveness (not just talking the animations here but the back end), which low to mid end PC users will also probably benefit more from.
Console users get... an updated interface and AI improvements that PC gamers already had.

I'm more perturbed that the OP seems to be under the impression that Final Fantasy is a hack n' slash game. I take offense on behalf of hack n' slash games everywhere.

As I understand it, the 'tactics' system in DA:O that people were so fond of was taken from RPGs, not sure if they were FF though.

To be fair though, femHawke's sword is not much larger than a standard 2h sword would be in real life. And as long as it retains all the typical RPG features such as good story, dialogue, party tactics, and character depth, I don't mind them making the combat a bit more like hack n' slash games. Combat tends to be something those games do well. It just gets repetitive, because that's all they have to offer.
DAO's combat system was nice, but tended to get a bit boring for rogues and warriors, especially in the early to mid levels. Speeding it up and making it a bit more flashy won't hurt.

Aren't JRPGs primarily turn based?Aermas wrote...

How is more 'hack n slash' making it more 'JRPGish'?

Speaking of JRPGs, they tend to have a greater emphasis on tactics than the majority of RPGs and are the most challenging across the board. (The concensus is JRPGS have the hardest boss fights ever).

Rogue says hi. (Diablo and all of its ilk descend from Rogue)
Anyway, so DA2 looks like a fast paced hack and slash and also a turn based RPG... wait, what?

Hack and slash games are light on story and very heavy on combat. In most H&S games today you can dodge, duck, dip, dive, dodge your way out of attacks. Not so with Dragon Age.

Also the Bosses tend to be tentacle monsters or androgenous males or androgenous males that turn into tentacle monsters.
