Aermas changed his icon. I've ignored him for the last day without even knowing it. I only realized this when UpsettingShorts typed out his name.

:P I'm a ninja:ph34r:

So it turns out you don't wear plate armor?! I'm shocked.  I need to step back and contemplate this for a while.

But I want to be special, Shorts! I want to be playing in the outfield and hope the ball never comes to me.

Put me in, coach!

No, no he is a ninja who does wear platemail. Or maybe not. Aermas would never be so inconsistent, or would he?

Am I crazy for thinking that DA 2 doesn't look hack and slash? Or not caring if it does turn out to be hack and slash?

A ninja would wear plate armor if they were posing as a knight or soldier.

But could they still walk on water in the platemail?

I would care. If I wanted to play Dynasty Warriors... well, I'd play Dynasty Warriors :?

 I'm not a very good , but I'm a  none-the-less.

(I think my armor gets in the way sometimes ;))

I'm more interested in the dialogue and story than how combat feels. Origins was super clunky but I didn't care because I wanted to get to the next bit of story.

I understand hack and slash is a standard definition now for combat mechanics but I'm pretty sure the term was originally used to describe killing wave after wave of enemies for the sake of it in D&D sessions.

I as well care far more for the story.. But H/S is sooooo boring in my opinion.. Not that I think DA2 will be H/S, but anything is possible I suppose.  Until some PC gameplay vids are released I'll reserve judgment entirely..

Will the PC version really be that great?

Imo, all PC games are much better than their console counterparts.. DA2 most likely will be no different. There's just more options, more scalability in settings, potential modding and a more intuitive interface and control scheme. Again, just my opinion.

But until some PC vids are displayed, I won't know what to expect..

I'd rather it play like Dynasty Warriors than other hack and slash games if it comes down to it though.

More specifically I'd want it to play like the Xbox Kingdom Under Fire games, but I doubt Bioware would dare to be that awesome.

Alright, so, somebody fill me in so I can get on this conversation. What have we talked about? Anything groovy?

Sadly, there has been no mention of Bruce Campbell.

The interesting thing is nearly everyone wants to distance this game from DMC, when in fact DMC was a pioneering series.

The Devil May Cry games have more brain teasers and puzzle elements than DAO did.

Well I don't know about 2, my mind goes numb thinking about that one...

Maybe the series is just too cool for school compared to DA:O which is modeled exactly after real life.

That can be easily remedied... Bruce does CSI

On-topic, I really don't understand how anyone can equate even that demo footage to DMC/FF...

Ok, maybe FF because... well you have a party who you control in fights, but unlike FF I don't see no names at bottom right of screen during the battle scenes and I don't think either DMC or FF had any sort of conversations the way DA2 clearly will have. Thus we have *airquotes*dismissed*close airquotes* the OPs claims
