Those guys are like Mass Effect version's of the Hunters from Halo.  They're walking tanks!  And I thought the Krogan were tough!
I think a Yahg could fit in the Normandy's cargo hold and he could have access to heavy weapons like Shepard!

I'll be civil this time since your not acting like you usually do. While I think the Yahg are cool, they couldn't be a squadmate because if you listen to what Liara tells you about them she says that the are extremely violent and have been quarantined to there home planet for massacring the Citadels first contact team. If shepard got a hold of a yahg chances are it wouldn't want to help him, It would want to kill him. The Shadow Broker was an exception.

Yeah, but surely not ALL Yahg are bad, just the majority of them. A lot of people have the same ideas baout the Krogan afterall but as we know they're much more diverse than the group of savages they're stereotyped as.

I think Shepard after having fought the Shadow Broker could see the use of having a walking tank in his fight to stop the Reapers. Sure they're pre space-flight but I think Shepard could have a mission that takes him to the Yahg homeworld, Parnack where he can recruit one.

Reasons we won't probably won't get big or weird looking squadmates: they'll have to make all rooms/corridors really big, they won't be able to take cover/use cover properly, the animations are a hard to make right (without clipping issues etc). Sadly, that rules out yagh, volus, hanar, elcor and rachni (unless it'll have some sort of humanoid form).

Yeah vehzeel, you're probably right. A Volus squadmate would be great fun as I think every team should have a short guy.

I think out of all the unused races for a squad mate, Batarian is the most likely.

Yeah, a volus sentinel/other support class could be cool. But since they can only shoot from the sides of cover due to size, I guess we can rule them out. While it can be a cool/fun character I think the programming will be a nightmare, and the bugs will be plenty.

I think the Yagh are a bit too big to be practical so I think Wrex will be a better choice for the token Big Bruiser of the team.

Some small guys like the volus would be a welcome thing for diversity though. And I definitely want a Rachni disguised as something more humanoid.

It could be done; the yahg almost certainly have outliers like everyone else. In addition, their pack mentality could lead to one being quite fiercely devoted to Shepard's cause...

Doesn't everyone want an alien squadmate they've never had before? And then the opposite sex of what we have had.... i think we should leave all that to whatevers next in the saga, we've already got too many companions as it is (if they survived)

I'd say they're a little too overpowered to be squaddies.

Nope, rather have an Elkor squadmate/heavy weapons platform for Me3.

Taunting question: Do you feel lucky, punk?

I still don't see why people think Yahg are tougher then Krogan. Stronger? Yep. Smarter? Yep. Tougher? I really don't think so.

I'll take one please. I think it would be a real test of Shepard's leadership. It would give the Normandy a real instability threat. A threat to really damage the mission if things go wrong and potential to give a huge payoff if things go well. They tried to introduce that sort of threat with Grunt but c'mon, Shep has worked with Krogan before and the Krogan reciting poetry and looking for fish dont exactly make them look insane.

I think a good angle to take would be another abducted Yahg trained as a scientist(perhaps by Cerberus) with some interesting insights into Reaper technology and desire to return to Parnack to lead. If you dont fulfill certain conditions within the game he will become disloyal and either have to be killed, imprisoned, or a crew member will be injured/killed in a sabotage attempt.

No having a Krogan and a Geth on board is enough I don't want what amounts to a rabies infested Monty Python rabbit on my ship tearing my haul and crew apart.

Why would they have to have proper animations for Yahg getting into and out of cover? The yahg itself would be cover! So yes, I would like to have a living chest-high wall on my team.

Failing that, having a batarian squadmate be nice.
