Those guys are like Mass Effect version's of the Hunters from Halo. They're walking tanks! And I thought the Krogan were tough!
I think a Yahg could fit in the Normandy's cargo hold and he could have access to heavy weapons like Shepard!
Not a good idea. Yahg are apex predators.
If a Yahg were to join the crew it will try to eventually take command from Shepard, as what happened to the original Shadow Broker.

Today marks the day I agree with you.Busomjack wrote...

They have packmentality so Shepard would just have to kick their asses, which he/she does to everyone.
and it would be cool if on hammerhead missions if you chose the Yahg it would ride the Hammerhead down to the surface, literally clinging to the top like a Basilisk war droid.

I hate the Yahg. They're an ugly-Sue race that, though the Broker, supplanted the Krogan in toughness, the Salarians in craftiness, and the Asari in being an all-knowing-wisdom ******.
If the Yagh world is in the databanks of the Citadel (which it is, since contact has been made), the Reapers will know about them and kill them off if they succeed with their routine. In another 50k years, they'll be too advanced for the Reapers to handle.

Although it would be interesting to see Shepard top-left-blue a Yahg into submission.

I guess I'd rather not want to see a bottom-left-red. On the other hand, that wouldn't be a recruitment but rather an execution.

It probably has to do with being bigger than a Krogan, meaner than a krogan, weilding a Revnant machine gun one-handed, and knocking out the perfect Krogan with a single thrown desk.AntiChri5 wrote...
I still don't see where the claims of Yahg toughness come from.
Just saying.

The Protheans made contact with early humans (you find this out on a side quest, after having completed certain side quests in ME1). As we all know, the Reapers didn't go after us 50,000 years ago. I do agree that the Reapers would kill them off because of their technology level (as compared to the cavemen the Protheans knew about).
As for having a Yahg squadmate, I don't want one, mostly because of clipping issues/the size of doors on all civilized worlds. Even the large Krogan doors are too short.
I do like a mini-quest that could appear though, as a squad mate goes rouge on the Normandy (indoctrinated?) and you have to stop this disturbance in between missions, in casual clothes (I would imagine Shepard keeps his pistol with him at all times). Someone said this would happen if a Yahg were a squad mate, but this could be an interesting event in ME3.

Big and mean doesn't necessarily equal tough, and Grunt getting knocked out by the Magical Table of Sleepyness is just plot power. They simply needed your second squadmate to be incapacitated and couldnt be bothered coming up with an appropriate way for each squadmate. We all know that Mordin getting knocked out by the same object and for the same amount of time as Grunt is absurd.Dean_the_Young wrote...
